Position Purpose
As the first line of defence, Risk Controller is responsible to ensure a risk-based, sustainable and effective framework surrounding Operational, Business and Compliance risk at the location and in close collaboration with counterparties to support growing business initiatives.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor the effectiveness of controls and promoting continuous improvement in control design and execution.
- Conduct assigned WM 1LoD controls and ensure timely remediation of observed issues.
- Assist to follow-up WM audit finding and recommendations.
- Assist with procedure reviews and validation.
- Monitor and follow-up for incident investigation, remediation and management.
- Support team and management with periodical and ad hoc data analysis and MIS reporting
- Support WM Outsourcing activities through the regular review of SLAs and oversight of internal/external vendors.
- Co-ordinate BCP activities for WM department including annual review of BIAs and testing preparation.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Direct Contribution to WM COO office
- Indirect contribution to TW WM counterparties as well as the regional WM functions
Permanent Control Aspects
- Job scope encompasses two main domains
- Execute Permanent Controls: including 1LoD controls covering compliance and operational risks & Front Office Conduct Surveillance.
- Governance, Advisory and Surveillance: Governance of Operational Risk (risk assessment, incidents, and procedures) and monitoring the Business Risks (Cross Border, Suitability, Tax compliance, Global Regulation, and TAC / NAC).
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- WM Banking and Trust related product and operational process knowledge
- Knowledge on Regulatory Requirements is a Plus
- Effective Communication Skill
- Proactive in not only spotting issues, but proposing solutions to support business
Specific Qualifications (if required)
- Trust and Broker License holders is a plus
- Fluent in English
