The position at a glance

Global Banking Americas (GBA) is a core Métier of the bank, focusing on Financing, Investment and Transaction Banking needs of our Corporate clients franchise. Additionally, we deliver the full Bank to our Corporate Clients, as we partner with Global Markets and our Commercial Banking and Personal Finance networks. 

In detail

The successful candidate will join the CIB Americas Client Strategy & Business Development team, supporting the Corporate Client Group for the Americas region. This role plays a key part in advancing our mission to grow wallet share and enhance client profitability through strategic planning, market insights, and performance analysis.

Working closely with Corporate Coverage and Industry Group Bankers, the candidate will contribute to the development of client portfolio performance packages and competitive analyses that inform platform steering and growth strategies. They will design and deliver high-quality, insightful reports that ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across performance and profitability metrics, covering various client units, sectors, geographies, and products.

Collaboration with the Client Analytics team will be essential to support data-driven initiatives that monitor and accelerate business development. The candidate will also champion the use of our Client Relationship Management system (CRM+), promoting a culture of commercial intelligence and information-sharing.

  • Strategic Collaboration
    1. Partner with Sector Heads, Corporate Coverage, Investment Banking, and Business Management to foster a holistic client approach.
  • Market Intelligence
    1. Analyze and prepare Competitive Analysis and Benchmarking studies to identify business growth opportunities, using outside data, across Corporate North America Investment Banking, Transaction Banking and FICC Wallet (Dealogic / Coalition)
  • Client Strategic Planning
    1. Measure and monitor client profitability and client service intensity (CSI) - Develop a thorough understanding and contribute to the preparation of client activity performance and profitability management dashboards reports by client / sector / country / product / sales for specific Corporate client scopes
    2. Generate ad hoc analytical reports, summary schedules and contribute to management presentations
    3. Support annual budgeting / forecasting process for assigned Sector teams
    4. Coordinate with CCG teams to answer questions and provide additional insight into client activity
  • Business Development Initiatives
    1. Support the GBA Head and Sector/Region CCG Heads in driving commercial strategy for both domestic and multinational corporations. 
    2. Track cross-selling efforts and support global and local business reviews, including meeting coordination and follow-up on growth actions. 

Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday. This position requires little travel.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

  • Undergraduate degree or Master’s degree or MBA in Finance
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a related field 
  • Fluent in English * 
  • Superior MS Excel and Tableau skills are mandatory ; Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint 
  • Knowledge of coding and automation is a strong plus
  • Analytical mindset, ability to interpret numbers, synthesize and to put numbers in perspective of other sources
  • Capable of working with large data sources and ability to consolidate into concise, easy to understand charts/tables/graphs to be used by senior management
  • Background in finance and a working knowledge of banking products is a significant plus

*Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in English language is required.
