The Hispanic Latin America region is a key market for BNP Paribas. While Brazil remains the largest economy in Latin America, other major countries in the region are also significant contributors for the business and for long standing relations with clients. CIB in Hispanic Latin America has world-class teams of roughly 200 professionals spread among Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Argentina, thus ensuring an overall coverage of BNP Paribas’ client franchise in the region. Job Purpose
:
Ensure that the components of the Operational Risk and Permanent Control Framework are implemented and effective in the activities of her / his perimeter.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) program in a timely manner and for the BU under scope (Risk Map, Historical Incidents, New activities Approval; trigger events); ensure lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and other risks.
- Contributes to risk assessments to identify the root causes that could lead to operational risk losses by challenging process defined.
- Assists local teams in achieving and maintaining target dates on incident reports, as well as definition and implementation of action plans reducing impacts and avoid repetitive issues.
- Develop and document testing controls (GCL/CCL/LCC) identified for each BU, document the results and deviations, and Prepare reports on Operational Risk findings, and other work outcomes with quality and within deadlines.
- Aligns with BU Responsible on any deficiencies or control gaps.
- Ensures appropriate remedial actions are defined, documented and implemented when deficiencies are identified within the time limits established for that purpose, and leading specific projects if needed.
- Support Business and Functions on Risk and Control Framework implementation, finding and recommendation closure, as well as provide guidance on any issues or queries.
- Organization, monitoring, review and procedures follow up.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of risk incident data through periodic validation of the risk incidents database against accounting records.
- For all the components, provide guidelines and training on the methodology to the managers and control that the managers have performed the tasks they are in charge of. OPC work closely with the heads of the business and collaborate various leadership teams providing technical advice and support.
- Conduct:

- Proper assessment of risk when business decisions are made, by driving compliance with local and group rules, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices.
Qualifications
Professional in Administrative Sciences (including accountants, business managers, and economists) or Industrial Engineer, particularly those with experience in defining procedures and implementing controls.
Candidate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Operational and Risk Control framework, preferably with a background in back office and/or middle office operations, experience in capital markets and custody and expertise in control validation.
- Domain methodology for risk management (identification, measurement, monitoring and control), knowledge of operational risk frameworks and standards (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., Basel)
- Experience with risk management software and Data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., 360, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- listening and analytical skills, he must build strong relationships with relevant business areas to be aware of business developments and their impact on the operational risk profile.
