Role

The main purpose of the Security Services OPC (Operational Permanent Control) team locally is to ensure the effective management of the group policies and procedures to maintain and enhance a robust risk and operational control framework regarding the first line of defence. 

The Security Services OPC team collaborate locally and globally to manage the non-financial Risk and permanent control framework within Ireland.   Their activities cover all operational risks listed in the Group risk libraries, which include but are not limited to fraud, outsourcing/shoring, conduct, IT, GDPR, compliance and breach of regulations.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective implementation, stakeholder engagement, management and quality assurance relating to:
    • Ensure the control plan is maintained and enhanced
    • Execute the controls according to the control plans and the methodologies in place. Ensure control results are reviewed and analysed by the Management and relevant stakeholders. Ensure remediation action plans are defined if and when needed. Input in the relevant tools the control results and the action plans. Follow-up their timely implementation. When required, review and rationalize local control plans in coordination with local process owners
    • Coordinate and facilitate the incidents daily management and reporting in the tools (Birdie & Risk 360) with the business managers. Perform the compliant data quality check before the incident is closed in the tools. Ensure that incidents are analysed and reported in a timely manner and defined, jointly with the relevant stakeholders, as well as the preventive measures which have to be implemented to mitigate risks
    • Build and coordinate the Risk Control Self-Assessment exercise with the business unit managers and ensure underlying deadlines are met
    • Coordinate and facilitate the timely procedure updates in the appropriate tool with the business
    • Ensure the recommended OPC tools and templates are used on a BAU basis, including reporting and dashboarding ones. In that respect, ensure adequate knowledge to use them on a daily basis
    • Contribute to management information, KPIs and reporting to organized committees and meetings
    • You will be part of a team of three people, reporting to the Head of OPC

Qualifications & Experience required for this role

  • Broad Operational Risk and Control Management experience and risk awareness
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality control
  • Effective stakeholder engagement
  • Effective Time Management: Be able to work on multiple assignments and complete high-quality work against strict and competing deadlines, with timely updates to stakeholders
  • Effective Communicator with excellent writing, reporting and verbal communication skills 
  • Personal Conduct: demonstrates the highest levels of ethics, integrity and conduct
  • Competent and positive people management skills, leading by example
  • Effectively communicates and manages change; solution driven 
  • A can-do attitude with a strong ability to work on own initiative

  • Analytical ability, with some knowledge of Tableau/PowerBI reporting tools (or similar) a plus
