Junior Hedge Fund Accountant

Junior Hedge Fund Accountant

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Preferably min. 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hedge fund or financial services industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of various types of financial instruments (equities, bonds, ETD/OTC derivatives, corporate actions)
  • Familiarity with financial software and systems, such as accounting platforms or portfolio management tools
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating a collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Net Asset Value (NAV) Calculation: Prepare accurate and timely Net Asset Value calculations for simple hedge funds, ensuring delivery in accordance with client service agreements.
  • Issue Escalation: Identify and report any operational or technical issues to senior staff or the Team Leader, facilitating escalation with relevant teams to prevent potential delays in delivery.
  • Knowledge Development: Participate in cross-training initiatives within the team to expand knowledge and skills, reducing dependency on individual team members and promoting a culture of shared expertise.
  • Stakeholder Management: Foster close relationships with team members, internal clients, and external clients to facilitate effective information exchange, ensuring smooth and timely issue resolution.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all NAV calculations are delivered accurately and on time, meeting the requirements of client service agreements and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
