IT Application Production Support Engineer

Overview

  • BNP Paribas is one of the largest European banks with ~178,000 employees present in 65 territories including Taiwan.  
  • BNPP Taipei branch was set up in 1981 and is running both CIB (Corporate and Institutional Banking) and WM (Wealth Management) businesses. BNPP Taiwan branches has about 250 employees in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung and also via BNPP Securities Taiwan (established in 2004). 
  • As part of Global Markets activities, BNPP Securities Taiwan conducts a business on cash equities and futures market making activities.
  • We are now looking for a dynamic, team player and eager to learn candidate to join its IT team mainly dedicated to Application Support, covering FO to BO to Finance systems.  

Application Support

  • Production support: Morning health check, Daily IT operations, IT security deployment
  • User support for IT applications used by Traders, Operations and Finance teams (Taiwan specific applications and BNPP Group applications)
  • First level support (i.e. determining the cause of the problem and escalate to the right party) for Securities and maintaining CIB UAT/SIT/PROD environments
  • Coordination between BNPP Securities Taiwan users and application development teams (can be internal or external vendors)
  • Users training for applications used locally

Business Analyst for applications used locally:

  • Document detailed business requirements and have them validated by business users
  • Functional specification validation and in-house development if needed
  • UAT preparation, co-ordination and user signoff
  • Manage application profiles and assure traceability throughout the lifecycle, following local, group, and regulatory requirements.

Project management:

  • Manage project schedule and provide timely updates for project status.
  • Prepare reasonable IT budget according to project requirements and control IT expenditures within planned budget.
  • Liaise with the IT Production and IT security teams regarding Infrastructure matters.
  • Coordinate with regional IT Application Support and local vendors for development and implementation 
  • Coordinate users for new requirements and perform UAT testing

Coordination and escalation: 

  • Ensure proper coordination and escalation with Branch IT
  • Ensure proper coordination and escalation with regional IT Production and Application Support teams, including service reviews.

Act as secondary for infrastructure and end user support

  • Personal systems supporting, including but not limited to: PC, voice, market data, mobile device, etc.
  • System management, including but not limited to: platform support, compliance management, vulnerability management, etc.
  • Computer asset management
  • Data center management

Contributor to regulatory and Permanent Control compliance: 

  • Contribute to implement of Securities IT management procedure in day-to-day business activities
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines
  • Contribute to regulatory compliance and internal/external review 
  • Contribute to the reporting all incidents according to the incident management system
  • Minimizing operational failure, including but not exclusively, the risk of fraud, by helping to devise, and by implementing sufficient regular controls
  • Ensuring appropriate escalation to management and/or Permanent Control (or Compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified

Experience required 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in Application Support in Finance industry or relative experience gained from Internship is considerable
  • Chinese native speaker with good command in English
  • Entry to intermediate UNIX and Windows system management skills is mandatory
  • Good communication skills 
  • Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Cybersecurity, and Taiwan stock market will be a plus
