Business Area /Department Overview
BNP Paribas Global Banking division focuses on 3 main business areas: Corporate Clients Group, the gateway of BNP Paribas’ integrated offer, which manages all the interactions between the Bank and its corporate clients; Capital Markets, operates across debt and equity; and Transaction Banking, which deals with Cash management, Transactional FX, Deposits, Trade financing and Supply Chain Solutions.
Debt Markets EMEA’s mission is to serve the bank’s corporate and private equity clients, by originating (jointly with Coverage), structuring and executing all DCM and syndicated loan transactions (corporate facilities and event-driven transactions).
The debt product continuum is fostered by Debt Markets EMEA’s organisation, ensuring that a product neutral approach is delivered to BNP Paribas’ corporate and private equity clients, and reinforcing BNP Paribas’ position as a leading debt solution provider in Europe, whilst providing holistic capital structure advice with teams across Capital Markets.
Debt Markets EMEA has representatives in several countries including the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany and Spain among others and is structured around:

Opportunity
Within the Debt Markets perimeter, the IG Finance team Iberia performs a pivotal role in the origination and execution of bond and loan capital markets coverage with Spanish and Portuguese clients under coverage. The candidate will report locally to the direct managers of the team.
Key Responsibilities of the role
Marketing:
· Prepare presentations and pitches to support the marketing effort in cooperation with various teams across the bank (Coverage, M&A, ECM, Syndicate);
· Ensure high quality standards and reliability of all marketing materials;
· Build and maintain internal networks;
Execution
· Support workstreams as part of DCM (corporate bonds) and bank loan, as applicable
· Support for financial modelling;
· Preparation of credit committee papers and management of the credit process;
· Support the Deal Team Captain in the management of the compliance workflow of projects
· Engage with senior marketers on both commercial and technical aspects of transactions;
· Undertake viability analysis to establish the appropriateness of individual companies;
· Ensure high quality standards and reliability of all materials and process execution (Due Diligence, credit approval, powerpoint presentations, etc.);
Regulation
· Ensure that all regulatory and commercial training is completed on time and refreshed as required;
· Responsible for adherence to the Bank’s corporate policies, to its internal Compliance regulations as well as to appropriate external Regulators;
Experience, Qualifications & Competencies
Technical aspects:
Qualifications:
- A degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record; or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- Working knowledge in the Investment Grade or Leverage finance debt markets highly valuable
- Previous experience within top tier investment bank and in similar areas also valuable
Expertise:
- Strong credit analysis and financial modelling skills
- Analytical mind-set and good awareness of credit and capital market risks
- Business risk: Understands the market, credit, operational, compliance, legal, regulatory and reputational risks of transactions undertaken by Debt Markets
- Express his/her messages in an effective, organized way, appropriate to the audience being addressed
- Be knowledgeable of BNPP product offer
IT:
- IT literacy in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
Language:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Another European language would be beneficial
