What is this position about?

Candidate has to perform his/her ambition to deliver the business result and bank’s target.  On top of technical skill, we would expect he/she to adhere group conduct and guideline with respect of highest quality. 

Primary Role Responsibilities

Strategic Direction & Business Development

  • Develop and implement the overall investment advisory strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals.
  • Assist to Identify new business opportunities and initiatives to increase assets under management (AUM) and revenue.
  • Collaborate with product, research, and investment committees to ensure a robust and competitive product shelf.

Collaboration with Relationship Managers (RMs)

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with RMs to deliver integrated wealth management solutions.
  • Establish frameworks and best practices for effective joint client coverage, including regular joint meetings, portfolio reviews, and solution presentations.
  • Provide ongoing education and support to RMs on investment products, market trends, and portfolio strategies.

Client Advisory & Portfolio Oversight

  • Oversee the delivery of holistic and tailored investment advice to clients, ensuring alignment with their objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with key clients and prospects, especially in complex or high-value situations.
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality portfolio management and reporting standards across the team.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure all investment advisory activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee risk management processes and proactively address potential issues.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, suitability, and audit readiness.

Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership

  • Stay abreast of global and local market developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
  • Represent the investment counselling function internally and externally, including at industry events, conferences, and with the media as appropriate.

  • Design and implement on-going sales training activities ( collaboration with management team)
  • Content alignment with APAC IS team (product knowledge development / continuous learning)
  • Team management : Effectiveness and Efficiency
  • Work closely with APAC IS team, identify at least one opportunity for cross team synergy
  • Provide feedback team head on RM's performance and improvement opportunity
