The position at a glance
The Functional Support Analyst Intern assists BNP Paribas by providing first line functional support for fund accounting applications, helping to keep daily production running smoothly. You will receive, record and investigate accounting issues, contribute to their resolution and communicate outcomes to users. This role supports the bank’s commitment to delivering accurate NAV calculations for its clients.
In detail
- Monitor daily production activities to identify and address any disruptions that could affect NAV delivery.
- Diagnose functional issues in Multifonds FA/WEM & Calculo, applying problem solving techniques to resolve them before they impact clients.
- Analyze accounting discrepancies during production phases, raise change requests to the vendor, and follow up until patches are deployed.
- Support accounting migrations and special events (e.g., mergers, share class currency changes) by preparing prerequisites and validating outcomes.
- Contribute to a stable Business as Usual environment to meet NAV deadlines and reduce recurring incidents.
- Test new Multifonds functionalities, ensuring changes align with business requirements and do not introduce regressions.
- Communicate findings, escalations, and resolutions clearly to requestors and internal teams, maintaining transparent reporting.
- Coordinate with global APS IT and development teams to align on project updates and incident handling.
- Provide guidance and share best practices with teammates, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- The knowledge of French and English is required.*
- Minimum 0 1 year of experience in a finance related internship or academic project involving accounting concepts.
- Apply reasoned problem solving when investigating accounting or technical issues under guidance.
- Perform collaborative troubleshooting with senior analysts and external vendors.
- Demonstrate dependable monitoring of dashboards to help ensure timely NAV calculations.
- Deliver supportive communication when escalating incidents and informing requestors of progress.
- Execute responsible testing of new Multifonds functionalities and document results.
- Show understanding of basic fund structures (multiclass, pooling, share class hedging) learned in coursework.
- Maintain trustworthy documentation of incidents, steps taken and outcomes in tracking tools.
