Position Purpose: We are seeking an experienced senior developer with strong proficiency in C# .NET framework, MSSQL and Web development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, REST & Angular. The ideal candidate is an individual contributor with excellent problem-solving skills who can independently work on large database architecture applications and who has the ability to mentor and develop others. As a team player, you will collaborate with cross-cultural teams, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions.
These applications are manned by a team of developers and application production support, spread across Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and London, with program management in London.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
· Writing clean, scalable, and efficient code using the C# .NET.
· Testing and debugging applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
· Participating in system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
· Handle queries from clients and support teams, providing timely and effective solutions
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and design teams
· Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement
· Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides
· Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schema designs to support application development
· Do significant new developments and re-factorization for performance improvements and optimization, extensive analysis, Maintenance, and bug fixes.
· Report functionally to specific application Team Lead based in Chennai/London
· Required to frequently interact (by mail / chat / phone / Video Conference) with other developers, users, other teams, and production support in multiple locations, mostly in London/Paris.
· Required to perform 3rd line support whenever needed.
· Expected to take on tasks independently and own them across all stages of the SDLC and deliver with high quality.
Contributing Responsibilities
· Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and implementations to ensure high-quality deliverable.
· Participate and contribute to the projects’ estimation, development, DEVOPS, release and post release activities.
· Maintain the team’s practices and processes, retrospectives
· Mentor and develop junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team capabilities
· Status reporting to technical and functional managers
· Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and processes
· Identify opportunities for optimizing and refactoring existing code to improve performance
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
· Sound knowledge of Software Engineering and Object-Oriented programming
· Strong understanding of the C# multi-threaded applications and services.
· High level of comfort and expertise in Microsoft dotnet technologies, SQL & MSSQL server
· Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality and efficient software solutions.
· Excellent in investigating issues and providing solutions.
· Clear verbal and written skills to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders
· Possess the ability to explain and articulate solutions and work constructively with others including more senior and junior members in the team to implement the same.
· Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and take the lead solving business focused technical problems.
· Have a can-do attitude that focuses on resolving the overall problem in the medium and long term as well as meeting the short-term objectives.
· Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and agile tools such as jira, confluence
· Active participation in Scrum/Kanban frameworks, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
Specific Qualifications:
· 10+ years’ work experience in IT development
· Strong hands-on development in C# dotnet & MSSQL technologies
· Expertise in building distributed, decoupled systems with clear design and architectural skills.
· Strong knowledge in database schema design, performance fine tuning in SQL Server
· Experience with front-end technologies & web framework
· Experience in using middleware technologies
· Working know-how of security protocols & security best practices in software development
· Working knowledge on DEVOPS and Testing frameworks.
· Knowledge on SSIS or any ETL tool or big data skill is a plus
