About the job

  • The position is a Counterparty Risk Analyst role in the Exposure Model team within RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“RISK MFI”)
  • RISK MFI provides the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”) with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB GM and of credit risks on Financial Institutions to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring
  • The Exposure Model team is one of the teams of the RISK MFI CAR entity
  • RISK MFI CAR acts as a centre of expertise for counterparty risk metrics contributing to the production, analysis, and anticipation of all Global Market counterparty risks
  • The Exposure Model team is dedicated to the production, control, communication, and analysis of Internal Model and regulatory counterparty risk metrics. The team works within an Agile environment and framework

Your Main Activities Are

  • Analysis of counterparty risk metrics: 
    1. Evaluation of the performance of counterparty risk pricers
    2. proposals for improvements to the representation of counterparty risk in the systems in partnership with the other teams of the department.
    3. Maintenance of the methodological documentation of any adjustments to the metrics
    4. Evaluation of the impact on metrics induced by changes on the counterparty risk models and pricers
  • Regulatory topics: 
    1. Analysis of the recommendations addressed by supervisors and implementation of solutions for their closure
    2. response to ad-hoc requests from our supervisors
    3. and production of reports intended to them
  • Reporting / committees: 
    1. Participation in the committees related to monitoring counterparty risk, its pricers, the management of the data used for counterparty risk management
    2. Actions and follow-up of points agreed for remediations during those committees
  • "Run the bank": 
    1. Participation in the counterparty risk capital calculation quarterly process
    2. Support to Front Office traders for simulating the impact of new transactions on the counterparty risk profile
    3. Adjustments of counterparty risk metrics
    4. Monthly certification of the counterparty risk metrics’ quality
  • Analysing and monitoring the core metrics of counterparty risk across all clients trading derivatives products on the various asset classes with the Global Market business of BNP Paribas
  • Regular interactions with Front Office to explain the various Counterparty Risk Internal Model metrics and collaborate around improvement proposals
  • Coordinating with different RISK teams (Market Risk, RISK Systems, etc..) to ensure continuous metrics data quality
  • Some regular interaction with the Credit Officer teams

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s Degree in Finance / Applied Mathematics Sciences / Engineering or related
  • Up to 2 years of experience in Risk and Controls / Data Analytics or similar
  • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of light programming language as R or Python
  • Ability to integrate information from diverse sources, often involving large amounts of information
  • Ability to ensure the precision, accuracy and thoroughness of the information manipulated or delivered
  • Ability to express oral and written message effectively in a clear, structured, accurate and concise manner, based on facts
  • Ability to collaborate / teamwork
