The role
Working within the Marketing & Communications team, this role will support Head of Marketing & Communications and the Head of Communications to drive the internal and external profile of BNPPRE in relation to key corporate projects and corporate communications. The role will report in to the Head of Communications, working closely with the Marketing, PR, and digital teams, the COO and HR department, to deliver fully integrated campaigns and employee communications as required by the business. Understanding how to create, strategically plan and effectively cascade content across all company channels will be key.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Affairs
The purpose of corporate projects is to protect and enhance the reputation of our company as it embarks on its next chapter, in a time of extraordinary change and challenge in the property industry.
• This person will manage the external social media profiles of the CEO and Head of Commercial, supporting themes of: Growth, ESG and Financial Fluency, to improve brand engagement with clients, colleagues and prospects. The person will also oversee social media profile raising for the Head of Residential and Head of Rural, with support from respective PR Managers.
• The role will lead on delivering an effective communications programme for the company’s D&I programme, Building Belonging. This will include developing overall strategy with the Head of Communications / MarComms, creating key messaging to support the programme, and managing campaigns internally and externally (including social media) on agreed moments in the year, e.g. International Women’s Day, Pride.
• The position will be responsible for key corporate communications including Gender Pay and Ethnicity Gap reports, messaging & communications relating to corporate ESG and wider business moments e.g. Budgets, elections, policy changes – ensuring we have timely content prepared for internal and external channels.
• The role holder will lead on building and then delivering a communications strategy to support the company CSR programme. This will involve building close working relationships with CSR colleagues at BNP Paribas Group, HR and the Quality and Environmental Officer, and ensuring key initiatives and campaigns are communicated effectively internally to employees and externally to stakeholders via media and social media.
• The person will join the CMT (Crisis Management Team) as needed. The group is headed by the COO, with members including Head of Marcomms, Head of Communications, Head of HR, Head of IT and Head of Facilities Management, amongst others. The role will support the business in handling corporate issues and crises both internally and externally with effective communications, and liaising with BNP Paribas Group where needed. To date this has been predominantly communicating though a global Pandemic, but it’s hoped that this will lessen as the work returns to ‘normal.’
Employee Communications
The purpose of employee communications is to help our employees feel informed and involved and uniting them behind our business’ vision and strategy.
• The person will support the Head of Communications, and Marcomms, in delivering our Leadership communications programme including CEO / ExComm webinars and communicating business updates and successes to all employees. This will involve extracting key information from business leaders, messaging for the ExComm, accompanying presentation material and strategy to cascade information via internal channels.
• The person will be Editor of the company intranet EchoNet, ensuring the homepage is regularly updated with key news from across the business; respective business line EchoNet Editors are trained how to use the platform correctly, and oversee the delivery of a weekly newsletter with the support of the communications assistant.
• The role will work closely with HR and relevant marketing colleagues to design and deliver necessary internal campaigns to address feedback in annual Flash Surveys.
• The role will work with the Head of Communications, and Marcomms and the events manager to deliver a monthly social event at head office to encourage cross selling and networking, and to profile different speakers, business wins and successes.
• The role will oversee the communications assistant in the delivery of day-to-day Eloqua communications as required by the business.
Day to Day
Key stakeholders will include: CEO, COO, HR, key contacts at BNP Paribas Group. The role will have 50% of the time of the communications assistant to support in delivery
Person specification
• Experience of working in an employee communications role within a professional services/consultancy business.
• An excellent communicator - confident in contributing new ideas and delivering innovative, engaging, results-driven campaigns.
• A strong communicator who is confident in advising stakeholders and managing expectations in line with the wider business’ priorities.
• A skilled writer with the ability to translate complex content into engaging copy. Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Proven ability to operate a multi-channel internal communications infrastructure Experience in delivering detailed performance analysis and ability to carry out testing to ensure the continued effectiveness of communication campaigns and channels.
• Experience of working alongside agencies and industry bodies.
• An ability to work closely with other members of the marketing and communications team to support the broader company strategy.
• A willingness to provide cover out of hours when necessary.
Essential Skills and Experience
Strong interpersonal, team-working and organisational and project management skills are vital to the success of the role, as is the ability to work at pace and flexibly to meet project deadlines, and to be comfortable working with senior leadership, including our COO.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• Strong experience of corporate/internal communications
• Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and giving advice at Board level
• Excellent creative eye
• A flair for writing
• Ability to multi-task as well as prioritise workload Team player
