China Economist

Job Description

The China Economist is to provide basic economic research work, including to trace economic growth performance and change in policy, to manage data banks, to provide basic modeling forecast, and to response to sales/client requests for basic information

• Tracking statistics of economic growth performance;  
• Making preliminary analysist into economic statistics; 
• Managing macroeconomic data banks; 
• Tracking changes in economic policy measures, in particular fiscal, monetary and other financial policy, etc.;  
• Modelling forecast for major economic indicators; 
• Market charts and tables for reports and presentation packages; 
• Meeting sales and client requests for basic information. 
• Participating in market call formulation; 
• Make charts and tables for published reports, including flush, focus, deep dive, global outlook, and other thematic reports; 
• Contribution to roadshow marketing materials; 
• Contributing to services to clients
• Publication of research reports in Chinese (when management decides it to go)

Job Requirement

• Master Degree or above
• 3-5 years related working experience will be preferred.
• Research-oriented personality
• Strong decision making and analytical skills
• Good bilanguage of Chinese and English in speaking and writing 
• Takes initiative and is results driven
• Act with integrity
• Ability to manage change and complexity with confidence
• Strong team player
• Client focused and commercial thinking
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated and genuine interest in Banking and Finance
• Proficiency in Microsoft office (MS Word, Excel & Power point)
