YOUR JOB IN A NUTSHELL

As Chapter Lead you’re a people manager and expertise lead. Your team consists of the mainframe developers, technical and functional analysts working in the different teams (squads) of the tribe Risk and Credits.

The tribe Risk and Credits has an E2E product responsibility of all solutions to manage the credits and the related risks for BNP Paribas Fortis. We help people buy the house of their dreams or open the bakery of which they always dreamed. The tribe consists of multi-disciplinary squads combining all the IT & business skills needed to develop and maintain the solutions supporting the credit activity. We deliver the initiatives that support our risk and credits strategy, comply to legal constraints and guarantee the continuity of our applications.

As Chapter Lead of Mainframe Developers and Functional Analysts, you manage a multi skilled development team. You report directly to the IT Tribe Lead.

  • You nurture the colleagues in your chapter by ensuring they develop the right skills and knowledge. You support them in the necessary changes by developing their agile maturity.
  • You build, together with your peer chapter leads, on a continuous changing and challenging sourcing strategy.
  • You recruit new chapter members in line with current and future needs of the tribe and ensure a good onboarding. You are also in charge of the knowledge management.
  • You ensure an open and transparent communication with resource suppliers thinking along in the multiple established value based partnerships. 
  • You help building an open feedback culture at all levels and cultivate an open communication and a high level of trust.
  • You contribute to the daily functioning of the tribe and represent your chapter in the tribe leadership team.
  • You provide pro-active recommendations based on your expertise domain.
  • You collaborate closely with the squads, products owners, agile coaches and other stakeholders in order to continuously improve the way of working, tools and skills of your chapter members.
  • You translate the needs of your expertise area in strategic development points for the chapter.

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

  • In your job, you are always aiming for quality.
  • You have good social skills, you can relate to the feelings and sentiments of the people in your chapter.
  • You have a passion and drive for innovation.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a relevant and similar role.
  • You preferably have experience in coaching and mentoring developers and/or functional analysts.
  • You have a knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and solid understanding of development methodologies. 
  • Ideally, you have a technical background in mainframe technologies.
  • You are familiar with the ins and outs of agile-oriented teams and methodologies.
  • You are fluent in English both orally and in writing. Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a must.
