Business Overview of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking – Corporate Tax Compliance 

The Corporate Tax Compliance Department has the responsibility of Branch tax obligations, of fiscal declarations and of their relevant payments. The Corporate Tax Compliance Officer makes sure that the tax obligations and the relevant payments of the Branch are properly fulfilled both by personal engagement and the supervision of the resources dedicated to the department. He also engages with the Inland Revenue and other tax authorities to prevent or facilitate the resolution of potential litigation.

Primary Responsibilities 

The intern, within the Corporate Tax Compliance team, will support in the following activities:

Income (and other) tax return:

Gather information and set up files to work out income and other tax returns such as:

  • Redditi (IRES, IRAP, VAT yearly return)
  • Transfer Pricing (task shared with Tax Function and Local Reporting)
  • 770 (withholding agent return)
  • VAT (monthly payments, pro rata, quarterly report)
  • Monthly Intrastat forms
  • Registry Tax
  • Virtual Stamp Duties Tax
  • Stamp Duties Tax on the Journal Entries
  • Sundry Taxes
  • IFTT Declaration

Review of tax return forms:

  • Check with IT, Tax Function and Tax Product Managers that tax return forms and calculation models are in line with law provisions and upgrade computer supports accordingly
  • Fill in tax return forms and review them with Tax Function ax consultants 
  • Perform payments and follow up documentation acceptance by the Italian Fiscal Authority
  • Manage any extraordinary tax event (tax rebates, litigations…)

Support tax function, cao and administration:

  • Take care of any notice from Fiscal Authority and work out actions with Tax Function Italy/CAO
  • Keep up-to-date on any changes in regulation that may impact Securities Services activity
  • Be ready to any request of documentation put forward by the Tax Authority
  • Support Tax Function/Tax product management and CAO in case of inspection by managing requests and coordinating involved departments
  • Engage with Inland Revenue and other tax authorities in order to facilitate the exchange of information and the resolution of possible or potential litigation
  • Support invoicing process (VAT)

What we expect from you

  • Education: Degree in Management with major in Tax/Corporate Tax.
  • Behavioral skills: strong accuracy; analytical approach and problem-solving attitude; flexibility; teamwork.
  • Technical skills: good working knowledge of English language (written and spoken); very good knowledge of Microsoft Office 

Contract type and Remuneration

The offer will be a 6-month internship and it’s dedicated to all students or recent graduates (twelve or less months after graduation).

The Company provides a monthly monetary contribution.
