About Business line/Function: 

IT Payment Services department, the worldwide reference for payments in the BNP Paribas Group. We are working on the many applications used worldwide using various technologies and working in Agile methodology.

Position Purpose: 

·       We are looking for a strong SDET / Automation Test Engineer with 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in test automation, strong programming skills, and practical exposure to UI automation, API automation, and bulk file validation scenarios. 

·       The candidate should be able to independently design, build, debug, maintain, and enhance automation solutions while collaborating effectively with QA, development, and business teams. 

·       This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining test automation scripts for regression and performance testing for multiple supported systems. 

·       We are looking for top-notch, energetic talent to keep up with the industry’s momentum and support the QA efforts.

Responsibilities:

Direct Responsibilities

·       Understand functional requirements and convert them into meaningful automation scenarios.

·       Design positive, negative, regression, integration, and edge-case validations.

·       Develop test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases.

·       Work closely with manual testers, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.

·       Analyze failures and identify whether the issue is due to script, test data, environment, application defect, or requirement gap.

·       Take ownership of assigned modules and communicate blockers or risks early.

·       Be willing to learn new tools, frameworks, and business processes.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Experience of 4-6 years in Automation Testing required 
  • Programming - Strong hands-on experience in Java or Python, OOP, reusable utilities, exception handling, debugging, and clean code practices.
  • UI Automation - Playwright experience with stable locators, waits, Page Object Model, dynamic elements, tables, frames, popups, and end-to-end flow automation.
  • Bulk File Validation - CSV, Excel, JSON, XML, PDF, or fixed-width file validation, including record counts, headers, field-level checks, source-target comparison, and mismatch reporting.
  • Domain and Data - Banking/financial domain, database validation, Kafka/event-based testing, or large data reconciliation.
  • Good knowledge and experience of writing complex SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of Card Payments / Monetique will be an added advantage.
  • Experienced user of ALM/QC, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint
  • Proficient in analytical skills (required)
  • Excellent oral and writing communication skills (required)
  • Experience in working in Agile environment

Specific Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience along with Bachelor's Degree - in IT, Computer related field or equivalent experience.

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Other Skills:
