Role

The Associate supports the other members of the Aviation Coverage Team on all business related topics, especially for commercial pitching and client follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deal implementation & life cycle:

Responsible for deal implementation and follow up of its life cycle in coordination with product partners / contributor RM/RO, Middle office

Responsible for the follow up of the Covenants.

  1. Others (WL/DD/CSR):

Prepares the watch List fiche, the GRR spreadsheet and CSR screening;

Attends watch List/Doubtful committee jointly with the Banker.

  1. Business Groups Strategy / follow-up of business opportunities:

Prepare the Strategic Business review and send it to participants;

Attends the Strategic Business review and writes the minutes;

Is responsible for the preparation of budget / forecasts in liaison with the contributors;

Contributes to the identification of the client needs and discuss with the Banker

  1. Aviation business coordination:

Creates/updates contact list;

Identifies relevant client in the portfolio & identify opportunities across geographies;

Prepares/updates stakeholders on the Commercial Strategy with the Group;

Records minutes of the Reviews, gathers feedback;

Schedule the network call & prepare the agenda, feed CRM.

  1. Origination/ Sales:

Prepares forecasts and measures impacts of major opportunities 

Monitors the pipeline and identifies client / prospects business opportunities in regard to each product and alerts/discusses with the Banker / team;

Is encouraged to build (junior) relationships with clients;

Map BG international presence (Org Chart) & local activities;

Create and maintains a list of prospects and new client and gathers information from client / prospects;

Contribute to client events, calls & meetings, sales/deal related client/prospect interactions;

Develop presentation/pitches;

Prepares client meetings (extract fiche client) and define topics to be addressed;

Coordinates pitch document and the rehearsal in interaction with the banker.

  1. Complex client request:

Supports the Banker in the RFP analysis and deal structuring;

Negotiates legal documentation with the client and support of in-house Legal;

Attends the screening discussion on deal with management, Delegation holder and Business line;

RFP analysis

Performs due diligence based on technical documents: RFP, Financial Information in liaison with Banker & BL;

Gathers relevant document (incl. Preliminary financial information) and send question list; 

Prepare Screening committee

  1. Know Your Client (KYC)

Assists bankers in steering the KYC Strategy for their client portfolio both for onboarding (raise onboarding requests, share priorities with other actors), recertification (conduct profitability review) and trigger event, in consistency with the Credit Process whenever relevant;

Ensures a comprehensive identification of clients’ business needs and the related KYC flag set-up between Primary and Secondary sites in line with Passport and Reliance procedures;

Maintains close contact with E2E Coordinators for clients under their responsibility;

Informs clients of BNPP KYC process and connects them to the proper KYC Operations SPOC;

By delegation of banker, he/she can prepare call memos, analyze screening hits and complete RMs assessment for any KYC file and can contribute, in limited cases, to the collection of clients’ sensitive documents.

  1. Monitoring of the overall risks of a portfolio of Pilot Groups:

             Responsible for watching & anticipating risks/events at Group level;

             Responsible for alerting the Banker in case of change(s) and issue(s);

             Responsible for regularly updating stakeholders (including ECA) via a one Pager;

             Contributes to the TGA discussion (AR process);

Contributes to the management of Resources allocated to their client portfolio, i.e. RWA, CDS, Insurance.

  1. Green Light Process:

Validating the criteria for denoting/propagation;

Is informed of any issue on a Business Group contributor by the ECA or the ECH;

Monitoring the efficient use of lines (GL responses);

  1. Responsible for the Credit Process:

Organizing a kick off meeting with the Banker and the ECA (+SCA when needed), for Annual

Reviews and relevant New Requests;

Conducts a sanity check of the Credit Proposal prepared by the ECA;

Responsible for the analysis & drafting of the Client Relationship and the deal/risk return part of the Credit Proposal;

Writes a recommendation on the file/deal (or an executive summary in case of CCDG file);

Attends Credit Committee together with the Banker and ...

...may present in agreement with the Banker, depending on the nature of the file / committee.

  1. Structuring – for plain vanilla products/ loan book:

Contributes to the discussion on terms and conditions with the client;

Liaise with Legal and Risk on Terms and Conditions;

  1. Contracting plain vanilla products / loan books

Coordinates the review of Sanction wording;

              Contributes to the Final Negotiation:

  1. Seek internal approvals (i) from Risk or CC if changes vs credit decision (ii) from compliance if any change in term of sanctions/AML (iii) From other departments such as Assets and Liquidity Management and Treasury or Legal if certain policy requirements have not been met in the contracts.
  2. Is responsible within the credit process of amendment to initial credit decision, ECA preparing the Credit Paper.

Qualifications & Experience required for this role:

  1. 5-7 years of experience 
  2. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance
  3. Professional experience linked to banking / treasury / finance / aviation roles.
  4. Strong English communication skills
  5. Outgoing, fun & sales orientated
  6. Able to stand one’s ground; solution minded.
