About Business line/Function: 

The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas helps its corporate and institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it.

APEX Team (GM IT Booking, PnL, Reg, Ref) currently consists of its Dev Team spread across Mumbai, Bengaluru, London, Lisbon and New York. We support a Repo booking system called Apex provided by FIS. User base of these applications is global, and we regularly interact with the business from many BNPP entities. In addition to the day-to-day support and enhancements to the system we are heavily involved in the group projects that span across the full front to back chain.

Position Purpose: 

BA role in the APEX team who will work closely with the Business / end-users / IT development teams, to understand their requirements and processes to facilitate change of different projects related to Repos domain. 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·       To work closely with the Business / end-users to understand their requirements and processes. 

·       To understand how the IT applications support the business and their workflow processes. 

·       To analyse business issues / requests and produce solution options for consideration by the business and IT Development. 

·       To produce detailed functional specifications which can be interpreted and used by IT Development. 

·       To prepare and execute functional testing of all new functionality implemented. 

·       To prepare and organise user acceptance testing and manage the UAT sign-off process to define and produce training material and end users’ procedure. 

·       To build good working relationships with Business / end-users / IT Development and to ensure regular two-way communication with these groups. 

·       To work closely with IT development teams to escalate risks / issues to IT Management, minimising operational failure, including but not exclusively, the risk of fraud, by helping to devise, and by implementing, sufficient regular controls. 

·       Ensuring appropriate escalation to management and/or Permanent Control (or Compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified 

·       In the lead up to a major release, you are expected to get involved fixing regression bugs, maintaining the automated regression tests and with the regression testing of an allocated area of the system. 

·       Maintenance – bug fixing, intra-day technical support and overnight 3rd line support. 

·       Manage the workload of high-level projects assigned to you.  

·       Monitor and ensure the quality of work of the team –JIRAs and Change Requests 

·       Track delivery dates of all work that you have committed to – Project planning, liaising with Developers, escalating issues/delays 

·       Take ownership of functionality delivered on a given project you have been allocated and take proactive measures when issues arise in production.

·       SQL on a relational database 

·       Extensive knowledge of the front to back workflow and Repo trade life cycle. 

·       Proven experience working on 3rd party application APEX provided by FIS (former Martini / Sungard). 

·       Strong analysis capacity and a comprehensive knowledge of products traded by BNPP with financial institutions globally (Bonds, Repos, MBS and Secondary Loans). 

·       They must demonstrate a solid sense of organisation and be able to deal with priorities in an autonomous way. The ideal candidate has been involved in projects demanding tight deadlines and different scopes. 

·       Proactive and able to cope with a demanding working environment. The ideal candidate has a high level of energy and dynamism and would have been involved in projects involving audiences at the highest level of the organization. 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·       FIS APEX ver. 8+ (former Sungard Martini) 

·       Oracle 12c/19c, SQL and stored procedures 

·       Python and Robot for automated regression testing 

·       XML / FiML / JSON / MQ (Messaging) 

Specific Qualifications:

·       Minimum 10+ years’ work experience in BA/PM

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)
