About Business line/Function: CIB

India COE Compliance Hub: The India CoE Compliance Hub serves as a strategic global partner to Compliance functions, helping safeguard the Group’s reputation and manage risk across all business lines. Organized around specialized service domains, the Hub provides expertise in Financial Security (KYC, Sanctions, and Quality Assurance), Operational Risk & Controls, Conduct, Data Governance, Market Integrity, Operational Efficiency and AI Enablement, and other transversal Compliance activities.

Working in close partnership with stakeholders across geographies and business lines, the Hub drives operational excellence, enhances risk management capabilities, fosters innovation, and supports the execution of the Group’s global Compliance strategy.

Position Purpose: The Assistant Manager – Professional Ethics role, emphasizing strong communication, ethical integrity, and proficiency in stakeholder engagement. The position is responsible for promoting a culture of integrity within the bank by implementing and monitoring ethics policies, coordinating activities and remedial actions, acting as a key contact for ethics-related matters, and producing regular reports on compliance and breaches.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

· Co-ordinates, follow-up with team members to complete reconciliation/declaration and other activity to meet deadline

· Act as the primary point of contact for team members, beneficiaries, team leaders and management

· Design and deliver targeted activities within specified period

· Coordinate with leads, onshore and team members to determine appropriate remedial actions on escalations.

· Produce regular management reports related to KPIs, breach statistics, and remediation status.

· Assist team members to review, log, and investigate potential breaches of professional ethics.

· Support and assist on adhoc request/automation projects and tasks as required.

· Liaise with team members, external teams and onshore on PE‑related matters

· Drives adoption of new policies and behaviors.

· Review SOP for the process and make the correction as required

· Assist with the implementation of new/revised processes and systems

· Handle escalation as and when required.

· Present and discuss findings during internal quality checks to the leadership team. 

Contributing Responsibilities

· Champion a “Speak‑up” environment; promote the use of the confidential reporting channel.

· Collaborate with the Digital & Data teams to make use of analytics platforms for daily BAU

· Conduct post‑incident reviews and lessons‑learned sessions to refine processes.

· Stay abreast of emerging ethical standards and compliance developments.

· Provide evidence and documentation for internal and external audits covering professional ethics.

· Participate in ad‑hoc working groups (e.g., onboarding new region, UAT testing) 

· Strong ability to identify and recommend process improvement and best practice

· Promote best practices within the team

· Ability to identify process and activity related gaps and accordingly provide solutions to remediate them

· Act as a mentor, buddy for new joiners

· Good knowledge of financial markets, compliance and banking regulations

· Relevant compliance and financial product experience

· Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional language(s) a plus depending on jurisdiction.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

· Bachelor’s degree in risk and/or business management (e.g Law, Audit, Finance)

· Minimum 3‑years in compliance, risk, or ethics function within a banking or financial‑services environment.

· Demonstrated experience for handling investigations and escalations

· Ability to prioritize work based on the materiality of ethical risks.

· Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

· Experience working across APAC or EMEA

· Proficient user of Microsoft office tool.

· Unbiased assessment of ethical issues; uphold the highest personal standards.

· Drives adoption of new policies and behaviors.

· Proficient user of Microsoft office tool.
