About Business line/Function: Market and Financing Services (MFS) business line provides a range of solutions to support the increasingly sophisticated requirements of institutional investors, alternative asset managers and financial intermediaries. These include Securities Lending (Agency and Principal), Foreign Exchange (On demand FX, Auto FX, Passive Currency Overlay), Triparty Service and a variety of Financing solutions.

Position Purpose: Assistant Manager will be responsible for performing daily tasks related to Global Static data team carried out in the MFS department. He/ She will be working closely with various internal teams and onboarding teams as part of their daily tasks and will report to the Team Leader and local management in Chennai. The staff will be working closely with all internal teams, Paris and local management as part of their daily BAU. Good functional understanding of the securities lending business along with basic knowledge of reference data management.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

¡     To perform static data setup – referential (ISIN creation and pricing) across systems at MFS

¡     To perform any new ISIN creation, Collateral &Tax matrix setups and settlement instructions into various internal applications as requested by various departments such as Business Support Team, Relationship Manager or Front Office

¡     Rigorously follow the issues from the internal teams and onboarding by effective communication and proactive follow-ups

¡     Prioritize the work and conduct investigation with due diligence on all the discrepancies/breaks and respond to all queries with in the timeframe agreed as per SLA and procedures. 

¡     Perform control tasks required for the process, double check and confirm the completion of tasks within the deadline in line with daily checklists

¡     Procedures and checklists must be updated/ prepared with immediate effect to be in-line with delivery standards and SLA 

¡     Anticipate issues that may adversely affect Operations and propose possible solutions.

¡     Follow appropriate escalation procedures

¡     Strictly adhere to established departmental processing procedures and controls

¡     Anticipate issues that may adversely affect Operations and propose possible solutions.

¡     Constantly improve business knowledge through training and multi-skilling and ensure yourself is cross-trained across various functions in the team.

Contributing Responsibilities

-   Escalating exceptions to appropriate processing team for resolution.

-   Reporting of exceptions in line with internal control and external client requirements.

-  Contributing to the team success.

-  Actively involving in terms of having frequent checks in terms of activities in SOPs and ensuring timely update of Procedures in Global portal within expiry with completeness

-  Extended error check in terms of identifying any errors/ incidents such that ensuring notifying reporting manager in terms of a complete write up of the incident within 24 hours post error occurrence.

-  Actively involving in terms of training new joiners in the team. Ensuring end to end training of process flow, logic and BAU activities, and specific activities as per requirement.

-  Should be able to independently carry forward any formalities in terms of on boarding any new Clients, for the existing process. This involves all the details relevance to services provided, any exceptions, relevant static and contacts details.

-  Should be able to come up with training plans based on the designation/ experience and expertise of the trainees.

-  Should be knowing end to end steps involved in terms of Daily/ Weekly/ Bi-weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual MIS analysis and presentation and the expertise ability should assist the management in case of any communication or follow up in future.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

¡     Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.

¡     Ability to work in a team environment in coordination with the colleagues and the mangers.

¡     Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required.

¡     Work Experience in referential is preferred.

Specific Qualifications:

Full understanding of Referential set up especially ISIN set up for Equity and Bonds ISIN.

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

Advanced Excel (model‑building, macros) – able to create a 3‑statement model.
• Financial‑modelling basics (DCF, comparable‑company).
• PowerPoint – professional pitch‑deck creation.
• Bloomberg/Refinitiv – data retrieval & analytics.
• Introductory Python or VBA for automation.
• SQL – simple data extraction queries.
• Accounting & financial‑statement analysis.
• Basic knowledge of market‑abuse and regulatory framework.
