Job Title: Assistant Manager

Department: Real Asset – Alt Credit

About Business line/Function: The Real Asset team will focus on Securitized & Structured Assets (SSA) Portfolio Management Support; Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) - Portfolio Data Analytics; Corporate Credit (CC) - Leverage Loan Fund Reporting; Credit (CC) – Leverage Loan Database Management; specifically in support of Structured Finance functions.

Position Purpose: The role provides operational support for Alternative Credit Insurance and Corporate Credit, focusing on monthly fund reporting and GRM/Markit compliance through multi-source data collation and quality assurance. Additionally, they manage the MAIA database by coordinating with vendor teams to ensure the accurate creation and maintenance of instruments and issuers.

Responsibilities

  • Fund Reporting: Manage end-to-end production of monthly CRDB reports for active funds.
  • Data Collation: Aggregate complex data from BNY Mellon, Corporate Credit IT, Bloomberg, and the MAIA tool
  • Reference Data Management: Maintain and update static reference files to ensure report accuracy
  • Compliance & Uploads: Produce consolidated monthly files for all funds and upload them to Markit to meet GRM requirements
  • Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks on all final output files to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Instrument Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the creation of new loan instruments in MAIA via the DALI and State Street teams
  • Data Validation: Verify instrument details against Investment Notes and update critical characteristics such as Covenant Type and Recovery Rate
  • Issuer Maintenance: Identify missing issuers in MAIA and facilitate their creation using Bloomberg data
  • Database Oversight: Conduct D+1 verification to ensure all instruments and issuers are correctly reflected in the system
  • Ad-hoc Support: Deliver additional regular reports and operational support for the Corporate Credit team

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in data manipulation, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables for collating large datasets
  • Experience with Bloomberg and Markit (essential for data sourcing and reporting
  • Understanding of data quality controls and the importance of audit trails in financial reporting
  • Ability to meet strict monthly reporting deadlines and D+1 turnaround times
  • Attention to detail for performing control checks and ensuring that complex financial data is uploaded without error
  • Capability to cross-reference multiple data sources (S&P, Bloomberg, Investment Notes) to resolve discrepancies
  • Compliance with local and global regulations and market standards
  • Flexibility to handle a wide variety of ad-hoc requests and varying reporting requirements for different clients
  • Ensure adherence to internal risk and control frameworks, participating in internal/external audits and various internal control testing

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to perform control checks, investigate discrepancies and escalate appropriately
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, VBA) and strong data-management experience
  • Ability to liaise with multiple internal and external parties
  • Strong organisational and attention-to-detail orientation; capable of managing competing deadlines
  • Ability to investigate data gaps independently and escalate issues only after thorough investigation

Specific Qualifications:

  • A previous experience in a similar role is mandatory
  • Strong understanding of Asset Backed Securities
  • Proficiency with applications - Bloomberg, INTEX
