The position at a glance
The team is part of a global support group to manage trade booking production for rates and credit bureaus. There are over 1,000 users of the system. The support team is in constant communication with developers, traders, intermediary teams and support teams aligned to the office.
In detail
- Support and operational maintenance of “tier-zero” application systems to meet the business requirement of high availability and high performance.
- Problem solving and analysis, directly from traders and senior management
- Acting the “gate keeper” for production operations by ensuring all aspects of the system stack are suitably controlled to ensure availability and performance requirements are satisfied.
- Release and version control of platform and desktop components.
- Obsolescence tracking – Operating systems, hardware and applications
- Project activities
- Working closely with development and infrastructure teams (underlying technologies in operating-system, database, middleware and network disciplines)
- Monitoring and implementation of new monitoring platforms and technologies (Dynatrace, OpenSearch, Grafana etc.)
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in computer/IT/Software engineering required; advanced degree considered a plus.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role. He/she must be experienced in providing multi-disciplined technical support as part of a team, and have practical knowledge of performance and capacity management from an application, database and network perspective as well as a strong aptitude for automation
- Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills are needed to quickly and accurately assess trouble areas in a wide variety of infrastructure and application environments
- Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting
- Team player
- Self-starter attitude and willingness to get involved in a wide variety of tasks
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking projects
- Flexible and adaptable to new environments
- Quickly learn new systems/products.
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.
