The position at a glance
This role supports the ALM Treasury North America mission by overseeing the liquidity and interest rate risk mandates for Canadian and US operations. The main objective is to provide comprehensive 360° visibility into the bank’s activities across the Americas to influence strategic funding and risk management decisions. By producing precise metrics and monitoring indicators, the position ensures the protection of the Group’s signature and stability.
In detail
- Generate and interpret liquidity and interest rate metrics through deep quantitative analysis to support departmental decision-making.
- Run complex scenario analyses, such as multi-factor liquidity stress tests, to assess potential financial impacts.
- Develop enhancements to existing methodologies and build new analytical tools using Python scripts to improve process efficiency.
- Coordinate with front office, risk, finance, and steering teams to gather assumptions and refine processes for smoother project management.
- Lead small to medium-sized projects, including process migrations and new assumption implementations, to ensure operational continuity.
- Present findings and analytical materials to senior ALM heads, treasury, risk, and finance stakeholders to communicate actionable insights.
- Maintain best data and reporting practices via a Risk Control Framework to safeguard against data management and usage issues.
- Monitor internal and external Early Warning Indicators and collateral positions to manage balance sheet fluctuations for US activities.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Analytics or related field
- The knowledge of English is required.*
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance, Analytics or related field.
- Reasoned problem solving when synthesizing and simplifying complex information for diverse audiences.
- Collaborative mindset when working in team-oriented environments to adapt to changing priorities.
- Responsible approach to managing specific projects and sub-processes.
- Technical proficiency in Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk for accurate reporting.
- Proficiency in Reporting and Forecasting to support business needs.
- Programming skills using Python for analytics and process automation.
- Business Intelligence expertise using Power BI and DAX to visualize data.
- Knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity.
- Automation capabilities using Python and VBA to optimize workflows.
