2027 APAC Long Internship (January to June) – Securities Services - Singapore

Training
From day one, you will start your business specific technical and financial training, alongside personal skills development aimed at equipping you with the knowledge you need to get you the best possible start in your career. Working alongside our teams of industry leading specialists, you will gain on-the-job training throughout your 6 months programme taking you along a development path to build your expertise and broaden your base of skills. 

What you will do?  

As a Business Implementation & Change Management (BICM) intern, you will:

· End-to-end coordination of new client onboarding for the Singapore Branch services;

· Coordination of Transitions related activities for existing clients – fund launches, terminations, restructuring, etc.;

· Maintain and build a strong client service culture for all projects;

· Deepen relationships with all stakeholders and clients and proactively manage issues arising from requirements, deliverables and deadlines;

· Work independently and proactively promote the continuous improvement of On-boarding, Off-boarding & Transitions documentation, procedures and systems;

· Assist in end-to-end coordination of new client onboarding and client transitions activities from initiation to GO-LIVE;

· Assist in ensuring full, transparent and appropriate communication and documentation to and from stakeholders throughout the onboarding and transition activities;

· Assist in establishing project governance with internal business units for coordination, planning and tracking;

· Assist in driving regular strategic client meetings, documenting, understanding the onboarding and transition activities timelines, deliverables, requirements, key dependencies and track to closure, escalating where necessary;

· Assist in completing documentation for implementation sign-off, audit and control

· Ensure close collaborations with Internal stakeholders – specifically Client Delivery, Client Development, Sales and Relationship Managers to manage pipeline, resourcing and project handovers.

As a CoS & CAO Office intern, you will:

· Work closely with Chief of Staff (CoS) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to manage the following: 

o Assist CoS in gathering market inputs from location sales lead; operational inputs from Client Delivery; business partners’ updates etc.

o Participate and provide materials for monthly location updates

o Gather inputs from Management team and prepare materials for management reporting

o Prepare adhoc strategy decks

o Organize adhoc events (i.e. town halls)

· Operational KPIs

o Drive a project on Operational KPIs and organize into a dashboard

o Synthesize key takeaways/opportunities from the data to facilitate project review and management updates

· Risk Management

o Provide value added support on governance, Conduct and control elements with the aim to assess and mitigate operational risks and improve quality.

· MarComm & People’s Campaign Support

o Analyze key metrics to strategize initiatives in improving workplace culture

o Initiate and drive key campaigns to support people’s agenda

As a Client Reporting intern, you will:

· To manage the end-to-end process to produce the Client reports for Institutional client, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of the reports while complying with internal controls, policies and procedures. To investigate and resolve any data anomalies that may impact the accuracy and timeliness. 

· To resolve client queries relating to reporting issues and respond to ad-hoc client queries or requests in a timely manner.

· To prepare and review daily reports and month end funds in accordance with applicable Industry recommended accounting practices, accounting standard or specific constitutional documents. And to ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports and NAVs

· To work with internal teams to close any gaps and improve process, and update internal procedures for any changes

· Develop a full understanding of client’s reporting requirements

· To contribute to other ad-hoc activities that may be required from time to time

As a Financial Reporting intern, you will:

· Financial Reporting: Oversight and conduct analytical reviews for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

· Accounting Reporting system: Possess strong computing knowledge in design and develop the reporting system

· Tax matters: To understand the Singapore mutual funds tax regime

· Consolidation: To have strong accounting knowledge in consolidation

· Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness

· Client focus: To meet client Key Performance indicators and ensure client expectation and satisfaction are achieved

· Maintenance of Security Settlement Instruction (SSI): Ensure accurate and timely updates of SSI in both system and folder

· Project support: Assist in various ad hoc projects, contributing your expertise to support the ideas.

· Communications: Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to analyse the financial information and response to audit, tax and client queries

As a Fund Accounting intern, you will:

Involve in the day-to day fund administration operations performed by the Singapore office for domestic funds/portfolios managed in Asia. Intern will have the opportunity to work on various projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of fund accounting.

· Review daily, weekly and monthly NAV funds/portfolios in accordance with applicable Industry recommended accounting practices, accounting standard or specific constitutional documents;

· Work with fund/portfolio accountants and liaise with different support functions to ensure NAVs are delivered in timely manner to meet the agreed KPIs;

· Provide accurate statistic data (KPIs etc.) on an as-scheduled basis and establish service excellence;

· Ensure NAV calculations are accurately prepared and in line with the BNPP operational and system procedural manual;

· Working pro-actively with Clients to resolve queries on action points relating to Fund Admin matters;

· Able to work closely under tight deadline with client and auditors to meet client specific reporting requirements;

· Attendance and participation in team / departmental meetings;

· Prepare operational and system procedural manuals to ensure that all operational risks are well under control and adequate for the day to day activities;

· Report and escalate operational or major incidents including any breach or error occurrences to the Management.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

As a Hedge Fund Services intern, you will:

As part of the Fund Accounting team, they are responsible for the overall production of the Net Asset Valuations (“NAVs”) for single manager and fund of hedge fund clients in adherence to Liquid Alternatives - HFS client service level documents. NAVs for clients may be produced daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually according to clients’ requirements. The team independently reconcile, review and report on trades, positions, cash and prices, controls general ledger postings and the final NAV review sign off process.

· Review of fund NAVs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, tasks include:

o Review of fund transactions, eg. Security trading, investor activity, etc.

o Ensuring all income accruals and corporate actions are accounted for and validated

o Review of all foreign exchange contracts

o Review of price movements, including stale / static pricing

o Adherence to client agreed NAV delivery deadlines 

o NAV impact analysis and justification

· Adhering to internal procedures, SOC 1 TYPE II requirements and Liquid Alternatives -HFS best practice and policy.

· Monitoring all cash and security reconciliation items on a daily basis.

· Ensuring all agreed reporting is completed & sent to the client.

· Attendance and participation in team / departmental meetings.

· Assist with the completion of month end processes for delivery to clients.

· Ensure that client Service Level Agreements are applied across all funds with deliverables met on a timely basis.

· Ensure any information required by the Auditors or Trustees is available within the timeframe agreed with your Team Leader.

· Assist other team members with queries / questions as they arise. Inform the Team Leader where necessary of any issues.

· Assist with the further development of the fund accounting process and systems to meet future market and client developments.

· Understanding of fund operating documents, prospectus, pricing policy, agreements.

· Ensure relevant risk migration controls including authentication check and vigilance screening are performed when processing manual instruction as required by the Bank policy and local regulations if applicable

· To have AML/CFT risk awareness and complete all identified mandatory training so as to ensure understanding of relevant/applicable Group policies (including but not limited to financial security related matters) and to escalate any irregularities where necessary.

· Risk and Compliance:

o Ensure the operating model in compliance with regulations, market infrastructure evolution and BNP Paribas internal control rules and meet compliance and regulatory obligations

o Adhere to the Code of Conduct and act accordingly internally, when facing clients and providers

As an Investment Compliance intern, you will:

The role is within the Performance & Compliance client delivery team. The role involves the daily monitoring of rules within client IMAs as well as assisting with daily operational tasks. 

The Investment Compliance intern interacts directly with clients and investment managers regarding all aspects of IMA monitoring to ensure quality service delivery experience by responding to client queries, resolving issues and participating in client service meetings and reviews. 

In addition to IMA monitoring, the Investment Compliance Analyst will assist clients with related monitoring activities such as Substantial Shareholder, Exposure and derivatives monitoring.

· Participate in and support the delivery of investment compliance monitoring services to BNP Paribas Australian clients. 

· Act as a contact point in the event of client and/or investment manager queries and requests.

· Ensure prompt action taken to address requests and or issues. 

· Liaise with internal business teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate fund positions

· Meet with clients as required to ensure the service delivery is of a high standard, maintaining a strong focus on timeliness and accuracy as measured by service KPIs and MI

· Flexibility to work on Public Holidays 

· Assist with client change control aimed at developing, extending, or improving the existing service received by the client

· Assist with new activity set up and onboarding activities

· Assist with business requirements documents, UAT & implementation plans, support and maintain project governance documents

As a Private Capital intern, you will:

Assist the Team in carrying out delivery of service to client support onboarding and transitions and participate in business change and improvement projects:-

· Assist the team in timely completion of preparing client’s accounts, preparing NAV calculation, reporting and statement distribution, audits, preparation of other client’s deliverables, conduct research and/or system testing and adhere to BNP’s internal control and risk framework.
