Purpose of the role
As an experienced project manager, you will help with developing and rolling out products, new processes and improvements, constantly working with colleagues from other departments. Thanks to your proven track record with the Agile method, you will manage your own projects and provide support to your colleagues.
You will make suggestions and offer guidance in order to improve quality, efficiency and service.
General tasks
- You are assigned projects based on the needs of the relevant department(s), in consultation with the respective team managers, manager(s) and/or director(s).
- You will be involved in establishing the objective and scope of these projects, and in putting together a realistic project plan.
- You will launch, manage and coordinate interdisciplinary projects in all Arval Belgium entities.
- You will also support and guide the implementation of new products, working closely with the product manager and all stakeholders, such as IT, Sales, Service Delivery, Finance and Remarketing.
- Together with relevant specialists, key users and/or team experts, you will identify the business requirements and develop testing procedures and plans.
- You will draw up project-related documents and can communicate easily about your projects' progress and status with different stakeholders.
- You will identify the corresponding training needs and will help to create training materials.
- For IT projects and/or the launch of new releases, you will be the main point of contact for our IT department and will communicate about them with the relevant parties.
- You will identify best practices so that they can be used in other departments.
- You will learn more about Arval as an organisation, as well as its processes and products, and will undertake internal and external training courses in order to broaden your professional knowledge.
- You will support and coach your colleagues in implementing the Agile methodology.
- You will constantly be looking to improve processes and will encourage the team to do so. You will also ensure that the process is followed correctly and that each member of this team knows what their tasks and responsibilities are.
Role requirements
Training and experience
- You have at least a bachelor’s degree (or a qualification involving an equivalent level of study and work).
- You have extensive experience as an Agile project manager.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in supporting projects.
- You have good knowledge of French, Dutch and English.
Technical skills
- You have a proven track record in project management, you are familiar with the traditional/cascade and Agile methods, and you can combine them seamlessly.
- You have in-depth knowledge of and extensive experience with the Agile methodology. Knowledge of Trello or other tools is a significant plus.
- You have good knowledge of standard Microsoft tools and process design tools
Personal skills
- You have outstanding organisational skills. You know how to plan and manage projects so that they deliver the expected outcome within the agreed timeframes.
- You are able to define and implement methodologies and approaches to satisfy the needs and expectations of stakeholders.
- You are flexible. Priorities can shift quickly, and you are comfortable with working under pressure and delivering the expected outcomes of a project.
- You have excellent communication skills. As you work within different project teams and for different departments, your listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are invaluable.
- You use your critical thinking skills to put together the right project team, plan deadlines, brainstorm ideas and assess data.
- Thanks to your good presentation skills, you can easily pitch your projects.
- You are a team player and are able to develop a strong network within Arval.
- You are well organised and work proactively and accurately, taking a result-oriented approach.
