Join one of Montreal's Top Employers in 2026. We are a leading international banking institution fully committed to building a more sustainable future.

The position at a glance

As a Senior Project Manager, you will steer end-to-end finance implementation projects that modernize BNP Paribas’ general ledger and deliver new capabilities for our clients while ensuring regulatory compliance. By turning deep business analysis into disciplined project execution, you will help the bank fulfill its mission of providing reliable, innovative financial services across North America. This role bridges core banking and capital markets expertise with a collaborative approach to transformation.

Several project typologies can be considered:

  • Digital projects, where Finance processes are being automated and streamlined.
  • Regulatory projects, where Finance reporting is adapted to meet Regulatory requirements for Head office reporting.
  • Business Projects, where Finance systems are adapted to handle new products or needs coming from Front Office or ALMT.
  • Internal Finance (Finance for finance) projects, where various Finance teams need to be coordinated to reach an internal goal (organization topics, internal requests from the Group, internal requests from the CFO executive committee).

In detail

  • Execute end-to-end project lifecycles following defined methodologies such as V-Cycle or Agile to ensure the successful delivery of digital, regulatory, business, or internal finance projects.
  • Coordinate with IT and internal stakeholders across F&T to ensure the on-time, quality delivery of projects through continuous alignment.
  • Develop measurable project goals and monitor progress toward achievement to ensure all objectives are met within scope.
  • Analyze As-Is business processes and define detailed business requirements, including the applicative chain, to streamline finance operations.
  • Define accounting schemas and system architectures from upstream to downstream systems to ensure technical alignment with BNPP SI standards.
  • Manage the testing lifecycle by defining test booklets, conducting IST and IAT, and contributing to UAT with final users to guarantee system integrity.
  • Establish and conduct regular meetings to communicate objectives, status updates, and project roles to all groups and clients.
  • Monitor software integration and implementation within BNPP SI to ensure seamless technical deployment.
  • Ensure the quality of data sourcing and provide aftercare for delivered projects to maintain long-term operational stability.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in finance or accounting.
  • The knowledge of French and English is required. *
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in finance, banking, or project management, specifically focused on large-scale implementation initiatives.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Facilitate collaborative problem solving when working with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Apply reasoned project management practices, including planning, methodology, governance, and budgeting, to drive disciplined execution.
  • Provide dependable subject matter expertise on finance processes and systems to support user adoption.
  • Deliver clear and concise communication of complex financial concepts to audiences of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Use advanced Microsoft Office skills to create reports, presentations, and tracking tools for project monitoring.
  • Conduct thorough risk and impact assessments to identify critical paths and required ecosystem interactions.
  • Apply knowledge of accounting and banking reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy.

*Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of French and English is required

While the description above describes our ideal candidate, we encourage applicants to apply even if they do not fully meet the complete list of qualifications noted
