Yves Martrenchar is appointed HR Manager of the BNP Paribas Group and Béatrice Cossa Dumurgier is appointed Chief Operating Officer of Retail Banking


Yves Martrenchar (55) has been appointed HR Manager of BNP Paribas and a member of the Executive Committee. He succeeds Frédéric Lavenir who has become CEO of CNP Assurances.

Yves Martrenchar joined the BNP Paribas Group in 1980 where he has pursued his whole career. He started at French Retail Banking, where he strongly contributed to its modernisation, particularly through the development of its multichannel model. In 2009, he became Head of Distribution, Markets and Solutions for all BNP Paribas' retail banking activities worldwide. In 2010, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Retail Banking, in charge of all transversal missions.

Commenting on this nomination, Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, Chief Executive Officer of the BNP Paribas Group, said “From the beginning, Yves Martrenchar has played an important role in building the BNP Paribas Group. He has strong personal values and knows every aspect of the company (cultural, commercial, geographical and business) extremely well. The human resources department will benefit from his good understanding of the challenges that banks are facing in today's new environment”.


Béatrice Cossa Dumurgier (38) succeeds Yves Martrenchar as Chief Operating Officer of Retail Banking.

Béatrice Cossa Dumurgier began her career in the Treasury Directorate, first at the Club de Paris and then at the French Government Shareholding Agency (APE). Béatrice Cossa Dumurgier joined the Group in 2004, first as Head of Strategy at Cetelem where she initiated the implementation of the Internet strategy. In 2007, she was appointed Secretary of the BNP Paribas Group's Executive Committee. Since 2010, she had been at French Retail Banking where she was in charge of the Buttes-Chaumont group of branches, covering the North-East of Paris.

Commenting on this nomination, Jean-Laurent Bonnafé highlighted that “Béatrice Cossa Dumurgier has the combination of immense personal energy and an excellent knowledge of retail banking and new technologies”.


Yves Martrenchar was born on 31 May 1957 and is a graduate of École Polytechnique (1977 class).

Béatrice Cossa Dumurgier was born on 14 November 1973 and is a graduate of École Polytechnique (1994 class), École des Ponts (1997 class) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT 2000 class).
