Ümit Leblebici is appointed CEO of TEB and Varol Civil joins the board of TEB Holding

Ümit Leblebici will take over from Varol Civil as CEO of TEB on 1st September. Varol Civil, who has been CEO of TEB since 2003, has been appointed to the board of TEB Holding where he will be responsible for coordinating all the subsidiaries of the Holding company and TEB.

Ümit Leblebici worked in several Turkish banks before joining TEB in 1999 as Director of the Treasury department. He has been Deputy CEO since February 2013.

TEB has grown considerably under Varol Civil's helm, in particular following its successful merger with Fortis Bank Turkey, which accelerated its integration with BNP Paribas. Within the space of ten years, the bank has multiplied its total assets by 15, it outstanding loans by 25 and deposits by 15, and its headcount has increased five-fold.

TEB is Turkey's sixth largest privately-owned bank and is now a universal bank, offering all of BNP Paribas Group's businesses. It has strong market positions, in particular among small businesses, and is particularly innovative in Digital Banking solutions.
