BNP Paribas is pleased to announce that Sir George Bull and Philippe Blavier were appointed to the Board of BNP Paribas UK Holdings Limited at a board meeting which took place on Friday, 27th October.
Sir George Bull joins the Board as a non-executive director and a member of the Audit Committee. Since 1998, he has been the Chairman of J Sainsbury PLC. Prior to that he was the Chairman of Grand Metropolitan PLC and Joint Chairman of Diageo. In addition, Sir George had been the President of the Advertising Association until May of this year.
Philippe Blavier is currently a member of BNP Paribas' Executive Committee and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking. He joined Banque Paribas in 1981 and, from 1991 to 1996, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Banque Paribas and Paribas North America in New York. He returned to Paris in 1996 as Head of Corporate Banking and has been a member of the Executive Committee since that time. In 1998, he was named Chief Executive Officer of Paribas, the Group's Investment Banking Arm.
