The first meeting between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the private Creditors Advisory Committee* took place in Paris on April 12, 2002 following the obtention by the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire of a new Paris Club agreement on April 9, 2002.
Following a presentation by the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire's economic and political situation and of the recent agreements with the IMF and the Paris Club, an exchange of views took place between the Minister and the members of the Committee.
After recognizing the originality and usefulness of the dialogue initiated between the Committee and the Republic, it was agreed that the next meeting would take place in Paris in June. On this occasion, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire will suggest solutions for the restructuring of its Brady bonds issued in 1998.
