Results of the annual Global Custody Survey undertaken by leading industry authority R&M Consultants, were announced to the custodian banking industry in London on Thursday evening, February 15.
One of the highlights of the results was the rise to prominence of BNP Paribas' Investor Services (EIS) business, who entered the Survey for the first time at number 5 overall with a Client Satisfactions score of 5.36. 13 banks were included in the final results table.
R&M Consultants' Managing Director, Richard Hogsflesh commented that BNP Paribas Securities Services "impressive performance is the result of high service quality." BNP Paribas Securities Services scores were higher than a number of more established Global Custodians including North American behemoths, Bank of New York, State Street and JPMorgan (Chase).
Within the various Awards categories, BNP Paribas Securities Services also performed exceptionally well, being ranked number two in the Investment Managers client sector with a score of 5.45 and number two in the Banks category (5.33).
Michel Laurent, Head of European Investor Services at BNP Paribas commented that the results were due to "hard work and the continual emphasis on innovation and meeting client needs." Michel continued that the results are also "further evidence that BNP Paribas Securities Services' EIS business occupies a unique and powerful position in the custodian banking industry in Europe." For a number of years the "Top Rated" Multi-Direct Clearing and Custody business of BNP Paribas Securities Services has been successful in leveraging their direct market presence across Europe. "The EIS business is now able to utilize this network and offer the same level of service flexibility and value-added services, locally, across Europe."
Frederic Perard, Head of EIS Product Development & Operations notes that the "accomplishment is a result of the successful implementation of our new pan-European Global Custody offer and the integration of fund administration services, custody, Depository Bank and Value-Added services on a local basis."
