Georges Dirani, currently a Partner at law firm Herbert Smith, will join the BNP Paribas Group on 1 July 2010.
During an initial transitional period, he will work alongside the head of the Group's Legal Department, Jean-Louis Guillot, before taking over from Mr Guillot on 1 October 2010.
Jean-Louis Guillot will remain with the Group, becoming an advisor to the Group's executive management.

Georges Dirani has a master's degree in international law and a postgraduate diploma in banking and finance law. He started his career with BNP in 1987. He then became head of the legal department and Partner at Deutsche Bank France, before becoming a Partner at law firms Linklaters and Herbert Smith.
