At its general meeting on 26 January 2005, France's Enterprise Institute named Michel Pébereau as its chairman for the period 2005-07. He succeeds Michel Bon, former chairman and CEO of France Télécom, who had been in charge since January 2002. The Enterprise Institute is an association founded in 1975.
It has 116 members, most of which are CAC 40 companies, prestigious graduate schools, and professional
associations.
It has a three-part aim:
- to be a forum for discussion among corporate CEOs and experts, preparing analyses and reports
- to be a meeting place for CEOs, eminent politicians, and experts from the business world or academia, who are invited to speak at international colloquia and seminars
- to serve as a training organization, enabling "young elites", economics and social science teachers and journalism students to gain hands-on contact with the business world.
