Laurent David is appointed Chief Operating Officer for the International Retail Banking and Financial Services core business

On 15 October 2007, Laurent David was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the International Retail Banking and Financial Services core business (IRFS). Based in Paris, he reports directly to Pierre Mariani, head of the IRFS core business.

Laurent David, 37, Mining Engineer, began his career at the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry, where he held several positions including technical advisor to the offices of Laurent Fabius and Florence Parly from 2000 to 2002. He began working for BNP Paribas Assurance in 2002 as Director of Planning and Management Audit before assuming responsibility for the Cardif network in 2005. He became a member of the Executive Committee in 2006, in charge of all Cardif sales activity with non-captive partners in France.
