L'Atelier BNP Paribas Strengthens its International Development Strategy
and Opens a New Technology Intelligence Unit in Shanghai
Following the creation of its Asia Division in Paris in January, and the launch of its website dedicated to technology intelligence and practice in Asia (www.asie.atelier.fr), the BNP Paribas Technology Intelligence Center known as “L'Atelier” today gets a foothold in Shanghai, China's core economic place.
This new technology intelligence division is managed and moderated by Patrice Nordey, head of L'Atelier BNP Paribas Asie. With this new local unit, L'Atelier plans to improve its analysis and understanding of the Chinese market, discover the new Web leaders, and identify Chinese start-ups, research centers, etc.
“We chose to settle right in Shanghai, China's main economic center, in order to cover the whole spectrum of Asian high-tech innovation landscape; this will also give us the opportunity to develop our contact base in the local community of start-ups, research centers, and IT leaders in China, Japan, and South Korea,” explained Patrice Nordey, Manager of L'Atelier BNP Paribas Asie.
This new office reflects the strong focus of L'Atelier BNP Paribas on international development, based on an exclusive knowledge and understanding of this market, and a sufficient maturity to consider expanding its business in Asia.
“The Shanghai center is the last member of our existing international network including L'Atelier North America in San Francisco. With this new extension of the Paris-based Atelier, BNP Paribas has built an exclusive international intelligence resource – meeting its internal technology and innovation challenges and those of its clients,” added Louis Treussard, General Manager, L'Atelier BNP Paribas.
Just like L'Atelier BNP Paribas USA and the Paris-based entity, L'Atelier BNP Paribas Asie will provide Chinese companies and IT professionals with a “knowledge-hub” in order to better identify and understand the specific challenges related to IT and communication technology development.
Leveraging 30 years of expertise, BNP Paribas' technology intelligence center will provide its users with a new valuable means to “decipher” Asia's high-tech markets.
