Guido Van Hauwermeiren appointed head of International Coverage (outside Europe) at BNP Paribas CIB

Paris, 28 October 2009. Guido Van Hauwermeiren has been appointed head of International Coverage (outside Europe). He joins the BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Executive Committee. Guido Van Hauwermeiren, who is based in Paris, will report to Alain Papiasse, Head of BNP Paribas CIB.

BNP Paribas CIB's Coverage activities manage strategic client relationships with large corporations and institutional clients, for which it develops close and customised support.

Commenting on the appointment, Alain Papiasse said: “Guido adds considerable value to BNP Paribas CIB, thanks to his international career in the banking industry and his extensive experience within BNP Paribas' Retail Banking division.”

Guido Van Hauwermeiren joined the BNP Paribas Group in 2006, initially holding the position of Director of the Eurasia-North Africa Region at Cetelem, before being appointed co-head of Emerging Markets at BNP Paribas Retail Banking in 2007. Prior to that, he held a series of posts at the Crédit Lyonnais group: head of the United Kingdom and Ireland region (1992–94), head of the Large Corporate Division and the Milan Business Centre (1994–98), General Representative for Mexico and Central America (1998–99), head of the Midwest and Director of the Chicago Branch for Calyon Americas (1999–2004) and head of European Corporate Development at Calyon CIB.
