To enhance its customers' summer holidays, professional travel or student internships, BNP Paribas now offers free automatic teller machine withdrawals on 4 continents

Published On 11.05.2004
In June 2001, BNP Paribas joined with five of the world's largest financial establishments to create the premiere world alliance of automatic teller machines (ATMs), named "Global Alliance".

Since 2002, the six establishments comprising the Alliance - BNP Paribas, Barclays, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Scotiabank and Westpac - have offered BNP Paribas' customers the ability to access the automatic teller machines of its partner's across four continents, completely free.

At the start of the 2004 summer holidays, this benefit will expand significantly. In fact, Bank of America's recent purchase of FleetBoston Financial will allow the Global Alliance to increase this network of automatic teller machines in the eastern United States by more than 3,400 ATMs.

In addition, the network operates on 5 continents, reaching Latin America (for instance Chile with 115 ATMs, Mexico with 997 ATMs) and Africa (Kenya, Maurice Island, etc.) as well as North America, Europe and Australia.

The entire offering will now apply to withdrawals from over 27,200 ATMs in the following countries:

- Bank of America: more than 16,000 ATMs in the United States
- Barclays: more than 3,000 ATMs in the United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal, and some 200 in Africa
- BNP Paribas: 3,000 ATMs in France
- Deutsche Bank: more than 2,200 ATMs in Germany, Poland, Italy and Spain
- Scotiabank: 4,700 ATMs in Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean*
- Westpac: 2,200 ATMs in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania

This initiative is part of BNP Paribas' international strategy to improve the service it offers its customers around the world. In this way, BNP Paribas is proving its willingness to innovate in the service of its customers, and offer numerous other exclusive services, such as 5-day purchase protection. By paying with the Electron, Visa Classic, BNP Net , Amplio card, or PREMIER card, the customer receives this protection, which, in the event of damage, robbery, or breaking and entering within 5 days after the acquisition or delivery of the purchase, allows the customer to be reimbursed for the full amount**. By paying with the Infinite card, the purchase protection extends to 30 days and the payment amount is double that of the other cards.
