BNP Paribas is pleased to announce the hire of Colin Grassie as Global Head of Bond Sales. He will be based in London and will report to David Ovenden, Global Head of Credit, and Bob Hawley, Global Head of Government Bonds.

Colin, 39, joins the firm from Deutsche Bank where he was Head of European Fixed Income Sales. In addition, he had responsibility for managing global relationships with a number of Deutsche Bank's most important clients. During the middle of 2000, he had the additional responsibility of overseeing the US sales force while managing the transition process of the US national sales managers. Between 1995 and 1997, he was Deutsche Bank's Head of Global Market Sales Asia, based in Hong Kong. Before that, he had spent 9 years at JP Morgan where he had a number of positions, the last being Head of the Sales Team in Asia. During this time he was based in places such as Tokyo and Singapore. Colin started his career in 1983 at Samuel Montagu. In 1983, he obtained an MA in Law from Cambridge University.

Commenting on this appointment, David Ovenden said, "We are delighted that Colin has decided to join us in this important role. With 17 years in the business, the last five spent in senior management roles at Deutsche Bank, he is the perfect candidate to give strong, hands-on direction and leadership to the critical investor side of the business at BNP Paribas. His active dialogue with a large number of key clients worldwide will create a formidable partnership with Paul Hearn, another recent recruit, who will be focusing largely on the issuer side of our client business."

Also commenting on his appointment, Jacques d'Estais, Global Head of Fixed Income at BNP Paribas said, "Hiring Colin as BNP Paribas' Global Head of Bond Sales is a public statement about how important our clients are to us and demonstrates how committed we are to this business."
