BNP Paribas Wealth Management and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership join forces to support leading entrepreneurs boosting sustainability in their business

  • From March 14 to 16, close to 30 international entrepreneurs from 9 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East will attend the BNP Paribas Wealth Management ‘Sustainability Leadership Programme’ at the University of Cambridge to identify changes to make within their own business and build clear action plans.

  • Almost 40% of Elite Entrepreneur respondents to the ‘BNP Paribas Global Entrepreneur Report’[1] of November 2017 considered ‘positive impact’ as core to how they assess business performance, compared to 10% of respondents two years ago.

  • BNP Paribas Wealth Management aims to create connections to empower entrepreneurs in their ambition to initiate or accelerate the transformation of their company to a sustainable business.

The concept of ‘positive impact’, which consists of ensuring that businesses, investments and personal practices make the world better, has moved up the agenda for entrepreneurs.

In coherence with both organisations’ missions to support international leaders to respond to today’s challenges, BNP Paribas Wealth Management and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership have developed an exclusive experience for leading entrepreneurs.

“Growing demand for increasingly limited natural resources, changing socio-economic conditions and a changing climate are creating unmet challenges and new opportunities. BNP Paribas Wealth Management can play an important role to empower worldwide entrepreneurs to adapt and respond to this changing context. Our ambition is to design, along with entrepreneurs, the future of their wealth”, said Sofia Merlo, Co-CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management.

Entrepreneurs have strong expectations from this program. They aim at acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of the sustainability concept, understanding how sustainability can became a part of the decision making process, facilitating more nuanced discussions with their stakeholders, developing a narrative for sustainable development at all levels (local, national, global) and enriching their long-term vision regarding how sustainability can support business”, added Vincent Lecomte, Co-CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management.

Entrepreneurs from Europe, Asia and the Middle East will attend the training, representing 9 countries and multiple sectors.

This is a unique opportunity for business leaders and entrepreneurs who are seeking to embed sustainability within their organisations and to lead transformational change in the wider economy to deliver a sustainable future. They will have the opportunity to explore global sustainability pressures and trends, to deepen their understanding of the implications and opportunities for business, and to gain insight and inspiration from creative, solutions-focused discussions and engagement with local innovators. And perhaps most significantly they will have the opportunity to reflect on their own role and impact as leaders within their business and beyond, to consider their contribution to shaping the future we want”, said Lindsay Hooper, Executive Director – Education of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
