BNP Paribas takes part in the first Twitter Job Fair in Europe

The BNP Paribas Group is today taking part in the first-ever Twitter Job Fair in Europe, whose basic aim is to link up employers and job hunters via Twitter. BNP Paribas already uses Twitter as a recruitment tool and now today, thanks to this initiative, job seekers are able to apply directly for jobs on offer across the Group.

This year BNP Paribas will be recruiting 1,500 permanent staff, 2,950 interns, and also providing 260 overseas internships, and the Group is delighted to be taking part in this ground-breaking Twitter event for employers and job seekers.

“In 2014 BNP Paribas was the first employer in France to recruit on Twitter with our #WeloveIT campaign. Today Twitter is an essential channel for recruiters as it enables us to interact directly with job candidates in a less formal way. BNP Paribas goes where talented people are to be found, the social networks being a prime example,” underlined Béatrice Perrot, Deputy Head of Recruitment at BNP Paribas.

Throughout the day the Group will use the @bnpp_recrut thread to relay information or advice on open positions to job-seekers, via our online HR tools Dr. Job, Backstage and the Guide to jobs at BNP Paribas. The Human Resources teams will also be working to respond to candidates’ applications as interactively as possible.

In addition, the @BNPParibas corporate thread will be disseminating general information on what is happening around BNP Paribas’ participation in this pioneering event.

BNP Paribas is making the most of the Job Fair’s international dimension. All Group subsidiaries, plus our establishments in countries such as the UK, Luxembourg and Italy will be taking part on Twitter with their own dedicated hashtags:

#VotreJob in French

#DeinJob in German

#JouwBaan in Dutch

BNP Paribas already has a range of online services designed to assist young graduates taking their first steps in working life:

  • Dr. Job: an app that allows you to prepare for your job interview in just a few clicks  (available at the AppStore and Google Play)
  • Backstage (backstage.bnpparibas.com): a site for chat, coaching and information on recruitment matters
  • Guide to jobs (unavailable link) at BNP Paribas: a catalogue of the various job profiles and professions at BNP Paribas

Recruitment at BNP Paribas

Every year, BNP Paribas hires a large number of talented people. In 2015, BNP Paribas is planning to recruit 1,500 permanent staff in France and will also be providing over 1,100 end-of-course internships in France, plus more than 260 internships worldwide. The Group strongly believes in the value of work-study programmes and will this year be taking on 1,850 new ‘sandwich course’ trainees at all levels of the Bank. BNP Paribas follows the basic principle of recruiting staff for the long term. Accordingly, BNP Paribas provides individual career management, with each employee receiving support and assistance from a dedicated HR team throughout his/her career, job moves and new directions. The Bank also runs highly specific employee development and advanced skills programmes. Given the wide variety of job profiles across the Group, many of our employees are able to build a varied career based on frequent job changes within a particular business line or department, between business lines/departments and/or moves to other geographical locations.
