BNP Paribas Strengthens its Operations in Brazil

The merger between the Brazilian units of BNP and Paribas, which was completed several months ago, has allowed the new group to enhance its position in that important market. BNP Paribas is present in Brazil under its own name and through the offices of Cetelem and Cardif .


Today, BNP Paribas is greatly accelerating its growth in the Brazilian market by recruiting a number of high-caliber professionals.

Déborah Stern Vieitas (43) will be in charge of corporate clients relations and coordination of the financing business lines. Ms. Vieitas holds degrees from the Getulio Vargas Foundation and from ENA (Paris). She had been working until now as head of the corporate sector at CCF Brazil.

Carlos Luiz Marino Calabresi (37) will be taking charge of the Client Treasury Department and of the financial management of the subsidiary. Mr. Calabresi is a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of the University of São Paulo. He previously held the same position at CCF Brazil.

José Marcos Chicaroni (58) will be responsible for all aspects of distributing specialized financial products for the subsidiary, including consumer credit and life insurance products. Mr. Chicaroni holds a degree in business administration and was previously in charge of the same sector at CCF Brazil.

Marcelo F. Giufrida (37) will be in charge of asset management business line for clients. He is a graduate of both the Polytechnic Institute of the University of São Paulo and the Getulio Vargas Foundation. Mr. Giufrida previously held the same position at CCF Brazil.

François Legleye (35) will have responsibility for the Advisory and Corporate Finance activities, as he did in his previous position with CCF Brazil. Mr. Legleye is a graduate of HEC.

Hiram Maisonnave Jr. (39) will work on defining products for high net worth clients in the local private banking market. Mr. Maisonnave holds a degree in engineering and was responsible for the same activity in his previous job with CCF Brazil.
These recruitments strengthen a highly professional and performing bank organization led by Jean Marc Torré and demonstrate BNP Paribas's interest in expanding its operations in Brazil.
