BNP Paribas sponsors a traveling greenhouse to encourage all New Yorkers to donate to MILLIONTREESNYC

BNP Paribas, the bank for a changing world, is proud to present its Greenhouse in support to Mayor Bloomberg's initiative to plant one million new trees by 2017.

As part of its sponsorship of MillionTreesNYC month, the bank has created a traveling Greenhouse to educate people about this important initiative and to provide a means where New Yorkers can donate or purchase a tree.

The Greenhouse will debut on Thursday, April 24th, at the BNP Paribas' North American headquarters in New York City – 787 Seventh Ave, NY, NY 10019 – from 9am to 5pm.

On Friday, April 25th the BNP Paribas Greenhouse will travel to McCarren Park in Brooklyn, NY for the Arbor Day celebration where 200 BNP Paribas volunteers and 200 students will plant 120 trees. Bette Midler, founder of the New York Restoration Project, a member of the Mayor's office as well as Everett Schenk, CEO of BNP Paribas North America will join in the celebration and press conference.

On the week-end, the Greenhouse will travel to Union Square starting Saturday, April 26th thru Tuesday, April 29th from 8.00am to 6.00pm to generate and accept donations from New Yorkers. The Greenhouse will be staffed by BNP Paribas volunteers and will contain a number of exhibits about the MillionTreesNYC initiative and how to help New Yorkers make a change for the better. It will be equipped with touch screens computers to enable online donations which are 100% tax deductible.

On April 30th, the Greenhouse will finish the month in Columbus Circle.

To further support the MillionTressNYC initiative, BNP Paribas has also set in internal fundraising goal for its employees of $50,000 to adopt a school – for the purpose of revitalizing the schoolyard – this fall.
