BNP Paribas has taken note of the Crédit Lyonnais' press release which underlines the friendly nature of its proposal and which indicates the Crédit Agricole had expressed its strong interest to carry out a broader merger process. It seems that this project has been underway for several months.
BNP Paribas has also noted that its request to have two representatvies appointed to the Board of Crédit Lyonnais would be examined as soon as the CECEI has reached its decision on the purchase of the State share holding.
