BNP Paribas launches forachangingworld.com, a thematic website dedicated to the corporate social responsibility initiatives managed and supported by the bank around the world.
This blog is designed as an interactive French/English website accessible to the general public. Its aim is to demonstrate the diversity of the Group's undertakings, as well as the initiatives of its employees in areas related to social responsibility from microcredit to educational support as well as medical research, culture, environment, diversity or support for disadvantaged neighborhoods.
This site is also intended to create a link between participants from different backgrounds, by inviting them to the site and facilitating discussion in order to foster new social responsibility activities.
A selection of articles has been proposed for the launch of this BNP Paribas social responsibility blog. The site will be constantly expanded to reflect topical issues, with articles, features, editorials, video reports, interviews, debates and chats with visitors to the site. In addition to promoting their activities and communicating their needs, the bank's partner associations will soon have a dedicated column on the site.
All the initiatives presented on the site are firmly established and based on a long-term commitment. Since the merger which led to the formation of BNP Paribas in 2000, it has always been the bank's intention to reconcile commercial performance and social responsibility in accordance with its values and ethics. Many corporate social responsibility projects already carried out or in hand attest to the depth of this commitment.
“Through the actions carried out locally by its employees and through decisions taken at group level, BNP Paribas has gradually become, over the years, a major initiator and a unique laboratory for innovation in the area of social responsibility,'' says Baudouin Prot, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas.
“In the present crisis, the bank is more determined than ever to affirm its desire to become the bank for the real economy, but also a responsible partner and interdependent with the world in which it evolves.” adds Jean Clamon, Managing Director in charge of BNP Paribas' corporate social and environmental responsibility.
The blog forachangingworld.com will be able to collect ideas and reactions, and be a forum for the exchange of best practice, thereby helping of the group and its employees more effective in its corporate and social responsibility in future.
