BNP Paribas Investment Partners presents its new management team


BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) is strengthening its General Management team. This is designed to bolster the development of the different asset management companies that make up BNPP IP, consolidating expertise and reinforcing the services offered to BNPP IP clients.

Based on the alliance of asset management companies offering complementary areas of expertise, BNP Paribas Investment Partners is strengthening its General Management team. It will be headed up by Gilles Glicenstein, CEO, with two Deputy CEOs appointed: Philippe Marchessaux and Pascal Biville (CVs below).

The Senior Management team will continue to be supported by the Executive Committee chaired by Gilles Glicenstein. It includes the following members: Pascal Biville, Vincent Camerlynck, Christian Dargnat, Guy de Froment, Philippe Marchessaux, Chantal Mazzacurati and Michel Anastassiades, CEO of FundQuest, newly appointed to the Executive Committee.

For more than ten years, BNPP IP's strategy has been founded on building asset management expertise, merging traditional active management and alternative investment strategies and expanding into new markets. BNPP IP's strategy is designed to foster entrepreneurship and promote its diverse range of expertise and that of its partners. Gilles Glicenstein – Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Investment Partners
Gilles Glicenstein has been CEO of the asset management business line of BNP Paribas since June 2005 and was Head of BNPP AM since 1999. From 1996 to 1999, he held the role of Executive Vice-President of BNP Gestions (the asset management arm of BNP). He joined BNP Group in 1994 as Director of Strategy & Development and Executive Board Secretary after having spent 4 years as a financial inspector and a treasury official at the ‘AMF' (French Ministry of Finance).During this period, he also lectured in Economics at the ‘Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique' (ENSAE) and at the l'Institut d'Economie Politique' in Paris.
Gilles Glicenstein attended the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (French National School of Administration) and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Institute of Political Studies), Paris. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the ‘Association Française de Gestion Financière' (French Association of Financial Management), and Director of Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, Fauchier Partners and Cortal Consors.

Philippe Marchessaux – Deputy CEO and Head of Marketing, Communication, and Wealth Management at BNP Paribas Investment Partners & Head of FundQuest
Philippe Marchessaux has been Head of Marketing and Communication and a member of the Executive Committee of the asset management business line of BNP Paribas since 2005. He has over 20 years of industry experience and has held a range of senior positions in investment management. He began his career with BNP Paribas Group in 1987 as an equity and fixed income portfolio manager. Philippe Marchessaux is a graduate of the ‘Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales' (HEC), Paris, and holds a masters degree from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. In addition, he has successfully completed the ‘SFAF' (French society of financial analysts) programme.


Pascal Biville – Deputy CEO and Head of Finance and Human Resources, Operations and IT at BNP Paribas Investment Partners
Pascal Biville has been Chief Operating Officer of the asset management business line of BNP Paribas since 2005, and has worked in the financial industry for over two decades. Prior to becoming COO, he spent three years as secretary general of Crédit Lyonnais Americas in New York (now known as Calyon Americas) where he was in charge of the merger between Crédit Lyonnais and Crédit Agricole Indosuez in the Americas. He also worked as a financial controller and then financial director of Crédit Lyonnais Asset Management. Previously, he had worked as head of financial engineering and planning for ‘CDR' (‘Consortium de Réalisation' – the company set up to optimise the liquidation of Crédit Lyonnais' bad assets). From 1993 to 1996 he was in charge of investments within the COO team of ‘Crédit Foncier de France' where he was involved in business development as well as operational and financial restructuring especially in the area of real estate. He began his career in the mergers and acquisitions department of Banque Louis-Dreyfus in Paris.
Pascal Biville is a graduate of the ESSEC Business School in Paris, and holds a degree in law from the University of Paris-Assas (1985).
