BNP Paribas Asset Management is pleased to announce the hire of Philippe Lespinard as (Global) CIO. He will be responsible for the fundamental research and active management activities of BNP PAM in equity, fixed income and balanced accounts worldwide. He will be based in Paris and report to Gilles Glicenstein, CEO of BNP Paribas Asset Management.
Lespinard, 38, joins from Citigroup Asset Management in London where he was Co-Head of Fixed Income globally since 1998 and Head of Investments for Europe since 2000. Prior to that he was a senior portfolio manager and partner at Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, a specialist fixed-income manager now affiliated with BNP PAM. He had joined FFTW in 1992 from the World Bank where he was an investment officer in the Investment Department at the World Bank's headquarters in Washington, DC. Lespinard holds an engineering degree in applied mathematics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquées in Grenoble, France.

The fundamental active management activites of BNP PAM cover institutional portfolios for high profile clients as well as retail mutual funds and private client accounts.
