Drawing on all Group business lines that can contribute to the equity financing of company activities and thereby support their growth, she is tasked with defining ways to strengthen the bank's position with these companies, which show strong development potential.
As part of her mission, Marie-Claire Capobianco will also sponsor a portfolio of corporate clients and partners representing the French economy, in close collaboration with the management of French Retail Banking. In addition, she will represent the bank on such themes as economic growth and inclusion issues with respect to stakeholders in the public and voluntary sectors.
Marie-Claire Capobianco has been Director of French Retail Banking (FRB)since January 2012, and will be succeeded by Marguerite Bérard on 1 January, 2019.

In her new position, Marie-Claire Capobianco, a Member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas, will report directly to Jean-Laurent Bonnafé.
Biography of Marie-Claire Capobianco
Marie-Claire Capobianco began her career in the Corporate Clients department at BNP in Marseille in 1977. She then spent four years at the bank’s ‘Inspection Générale’ (Group Internal Audit) as an Auditor, then Chief Auditor, before moving to take charge of the Individual and Self-Employed Professional Clients department in Nantes. She subsequently became Head of the Toulon branch group, and then the Évry branch group. In November 2002, she was appointed Head of Private Banking for the whole of France.
In 2007, following the BNP Paribas Group’s acquisition of BNL, Ms Capobianco took on a governance role for the Private Banking business in Italy. In November 2008, when the BNP Paribas Retail Banking division was being set up, she was given the task of managing the development of Private Banking in all the countries where the Group has a domestic branch network.
In 2012, Marie-Claire Capobianco was appointed Head of BNP Paribas French Retail Banking, becoming a member of the BNP Paribas Group Executive Committee.
She also sits on the Executive Board of France’s largest employer federation, MEDEF and she is also a Member of the Board of Directors of ADIE.
