BNP Paribas Asset Management is the first foreign AM to obtain a Certificate of Registration for Investment Advisory Business and Discretionary Investment Management Business in Korea

On August 11th, 2004, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has accepted BNP Paribas Asset Management's application for registration to engage in the investment advisory (IA) and discretionary investment management (DIM) business in Korea on a cross-border basis.
BNP Paribas is currently actively involved in the Korean financial market in areas such as investment Banking, bancassurance and asset management. The registration of BNP PAM for IA and DIM licences in Korea will allow BNP Paribas group to extend its knowledge and expertise in the Korean market.
Thanks to BNP PAM's local presence, Korean institutional clients as well as financial institutions such as pension funds, banks, investment trust and insurance companies will be targeted and serviced.
Shinhan BNP Paribas ITMC will quickly benefit from BNP PAM investment capabilities, especially in European markets and Asian markets as well. As a consequence, Korean retail and institutional investors will be provided with Korean funds by law, that will give them an access to overseas markets through the range of funds of Shinhan BNP Paribas ITMC.
