Paris – BNP Paribas is pleased to announce that Nicola D'Anselmo has been appointed Head of its Milan Branch and Head of its Corporate and Investment Banking activities in Italy. D'Anselmo, 38, was previously deputy head of Leveraged Finance Europe at BNP Paribas, based in London.
An Italian national, D'Anselmo has extensive international experience. He began his career at a US bank before joining BNP Paribas Leveraged Finance in Milan in 1995. As head of Leveraged Finance in Italy, Nicola built BNP Paribas into the undisputed market leader in the sector in Italy before being appointed co-head of Leveraged Finance UK in February 2005, while still retaining his responsibilities for the Italian platform. In January 2006 Nicola, was appointed deputy head of the bank's pan-European Leveraged Finance franchise.
Commenting on his appointment, Nicola D'Anselmo declared: “The combination of BNL and BNP Paribas will create outstanding opportunities for the clients of both parties involved. There is a terrific scope to grow our revenues combining the international platform of the BNP Paribas CIB franchise with the large BNL client base. I am convinced that through the combination of the CIB forces of BNP Paribas and BNL, the Group is set to strengthen its positions in its businesses in Italy.”
