BNP Paribas announces the appointment of Laurence Pessez as the Group's Corporate Social Responsibility Director.
Her key responsibilities in her new position will be to oversee the deployment of a global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and to formulate the Group's environmental policy.
Laurence Pessez will report directly to Jean Clamon, Managing Director and member of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee. In strengthening its group CSR team and deploying a global strategy in this way, BNP Paribas is demonstrating its desire to take the fullest possible account of social and environmental issues when providing its banking operations on behalf of the real economy.
Laurence Pessez joined the BNP Paribas Group in 2002 as Communication Director (and from 2006 Communication and CSR Director) at BNP Paribas Assurance.
Before that, she was employed as Marketing and Communication Director at MEDIAPOST (a subsidiary of La Poste, the French post office) from 1996 to 2001; Communication and Human Resources Director at the health-care provider CEGEDIM from 1991 to 1995; and Deputy Communication Director at Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris from 1986 to 1990.
